Ordered both. Cheers and hot!

Brilliant albums - shame so few modern "bands" can even play a note. My zappa in new york cassette got taken on a car journey by a friend and never came back.... The plastic case did though, so it wasn't a total loss...

lol, another expensive week! Hot!

Doh!!

Respect to Andy Wedge for always finding the good Beefheart & Zappa bargains.

I heard Zappa in 81 or 82 with a great band. The early show was good but a few too many of the puerile songs for my liking. The later show was much better and an hour longer at 2.5 hours and they really stretched out and played some less well known pieces according to my friend who was a major Zappatista. Loved his guitar playing; Black Napkins etc.

Zappa an absolute musical genius. Definitely an acquired taste though, one of the few guitarists that has an identifiable sound, as in you know it's Zappa when you hear it, just like you know it's Hendrix when you hear his music. Zappa was much more than a guitarist, he was possibly one of the best 20th century composers. A truly prolific composer who arguably excelled in more musical areas than anyone before or after him. Not a jack of all musical trades a master of all. Zappa was an orator, a satarist, a politician, an adovocate of free speech.

Zappa was at the height of his powers in the early to mid 70's you have the "easy listening" Hot Rats (fantastic album with a guest appearance by Captain Beefheart) and then you have the rediculously talented line up who played on the albums Apostrophe and Over Nite Sensation. If you're a budding musician and start to listen to Zappa, prepare to give up music :P Zappa was an American who understood sarcasm and used to it full effect. The talent of Zappa was totally unique, a mind blowing talent, definitely a true genius.
