Reviews:
Jimmy Carr: 'If you like Harry Potter and the Da Vinci Code, why are you even looking at this, you retard?'
Sunday Mail:
'Highly original, hilariously funny material, based on topical issues and cynical observations. Pure stand-up, pure brilliant. Staggering. Laid back, laconic, sharp as the jaggiest jaggy bit of a thistle.'
Guardian:
'Perfectly constructed, weird and wicked one-liners! His eye for absurdity is as sharp as his suits.'
Edinburgh Evening News:
'An impressive arsenal of punch lines!bloody funny.' Metro 'You can forgive Frankie Boyle's confidence and his apparent belief that he is really that good. That is simply, because he is.'
The List:
'Frankie has the attention-holding flair of a natural storyteller.' Herald 'If anyone can steal the crown as the UK's top gag teller, it's him.'

Product Description:
Ever since being brought up by The Beatles, Frankie Boyle has been a tremendous liar. Join him on his adventures with his chum Clangy The Brass Boy and laugh as he doesn't accidentally kill a student nurse when a party gets out of hand. I don't think anyone can have written an autobiography without at some point thinking "Why would anyone want to know this shit?" I've always read them thinking "I don't want to know where Steve Tyler grew up, just tell me how many groupies he ******"' So begins Frankie's outrageous, laugh-out loud, cynical rant on life as he knows it. From growing up in Pollockshaws, Glasgow ('it was an aching cement void, a slap in the face to Childhood, and for the family it was a step up'), to his rampant teenage sex drive ('in those days if you glimpsed a nipple on T.V. it was like porn Christmas'), and first job working in a mental hospital ('where most evenings were spent persuading an old man in his pants not to eat a family sized block of cheese'), nothing is out of bounds. Outspoken, outrageous and brilliantly inappropriate, Frankie Boyle, the dark heart of Mock the Week, says the unsayable as only he can. From the TV programmes he would like to see made ('Celebrities On Acid On Ice: just like Celebrity Dancing On Ice, but with an opening sequence where Graham Norton hoses the celebrities down with liquid LSD'), to his native Scotland and the Mayor of London ('voting for Boris Johnson wasn't that different to voting for a Labrador wearing a Wonder Woman costume'), nothing and no one is safe from Frankie's fearless, sharp-tongued assault. Sharply observed and full of taboo-busting, we-really-shouldn't-be-laughing-at-this humour, My **** Life So Far shows why Frankie Boyle really is the blackest man in show business.

I really don't give a **** if the title of this waste of a tree was meant as sarcasm or not.

Also, book has been this price on play since it's release - that should tell you something about it's quality.

This is the e-mail that was sent out!!!

My negroes, my bitches, I hope you are well

I have a few things to tell you, Frankie Boyle Club! This week, you should have received the decoding ring that allows you to read the messages on your membership card and badge. If you've not yet received the ring, it must be stuck in the post or we forgot to send it or something. Anyway, both messages read "I am a ****".

My book is oot! Here's a link to a wee sample chunk, in case you're wondering if it's any good:

frankieboyle.com/stu…tml

I'm also doing some more tour dates, including a DVD record at the Apollo on June 4 & 5. Dig it!

ticketmaster.co.uk/sea…yle

And finally, I've decided not to do any more Mock The Week. I've done what feels like a good few thousand of them now and I feel I've mocked the **** out of the week. I salute everybody there (salutes). I'm going to concentrate on next year's tour and some other funny things I'm writing. Be careful out there everybody.

Heil Hitler

Oh well!

Shame really, he's one of the reasons I watch that show.

Maybe he's quit because he's pedalled all his tired old live material dressed up as quick one-liners on the show to breaking point. Boyle has been touring with the same old jokes for too long, living off them on Mock The Week and they don't age well. He'd be better off using his time to write some new material.

I saw him live once, and apart from being bored by hearing the same things again, I just saw how pathetic his attempts at topical offensiveness were. I love offensiveness when it's relevant, but Boyle couldn't come up with anything funny; he was just offensive for the sake of it, and that's just desparate and unimaginative. He was upstaged by his support act.

I agree about the jokes rehashed as one liners. Saw him live in Warrington a couple of years back on the back of his hilarious performances on MTW,

Disappointed to see a lot of his routine had been used on the show. He is funny though.

I generally find him funny of not a bit (OK a lot) repetitive. I watched his live DVD and I found his battering of the audience funny at first but then he just singled one out and just kept on going.... and going until eventually I started to fell sorry for the guy he kept picking on, it became uncomfortable to watch.

As for mock the week, I say its good that he's leaving, it may give the others a chance to talk, lets see if they deserve to be on telly without his support.

Mock the week will definately suffer in his absence and no matter if you love him or hate him .... that is a FACT.:whistling:

I think all comedians rehash their material or as Hollywood may put it a reimagining of his oldies to fit the relative window of opportunity that pop up on that particular show.

I can see Frankie maybe having a go at some sort of Sit-Com for the BBC (probably land on BBC3) as I think his superb timing and dead pan expression would be ideal for this sort of thing ... plus with his time off he might get the chance to write some new material.;-)

I would rather have the dvd as I can't read.

Sorry to all the haters but I think Frankie Boyle is awesome! He says the things a lot of us think but are scared to say, to hilarious effect. I think he is our funniest export since Billy Connelly. I will be interested to read his book I gotta admit. Can't be any worse than Russell Brands tawdry biography.

For the sake of saving a penny you can get it from the Book Depository for £8.98, maybe why people are voting cold? ]Book Depository Link

Also available at £8.99 from play.com

I haven't voted either way.

face it, the show is gonna be terrible without frankie boyle unless they replace him with someone remotely as dark and controversial as he was. he added a raw edge to the show that allowed them to get away with the lame playground humour of russell howard.

When it comes to MTW, they are definitely gonna be missing a lot of laughs when Frankie leaves and we are all left with the world's most unfunny comedian, Andy Parsons!!!!!!!!!!!:?

If anyone wanted an example of a modern comedian being repetitive, they need look no further than Jimmy Carr.

I think Frankie does need some new stuff, but he is probably one of the fastest observationist comedian out there.

Strangely if you don't look at him, Andy's voice is like Griff Rhys Jones.

Curiously enough, he used to write Smith & Jones' material in the 90s (co-wrote with the guy who played Bough in the Rowan Atkinson Barclaycard ads)

It's not his real voice, he's putting it on so it's pretty clear that's exactly where he got it from!
