With its witty dialouge, sophisticated character development, and classic slapstik situations, FRASIER is perhaps best described as the thinking mans FRIENDS. Taking centre stage is pompous radio psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), whose phone-in show serves as much an outlet for his prim and proper brother Niles ( David Hyde Peirce), their gruff retired-cop father Martin ( John Mahoney), live-in home care worker Daphne (Jane Leeves), brassy radio producer Roz (Teri Gilin), And a charismatic jack russel terrier named Eddie, with whom Frasier has regular staring contents but never wins. This collection includes the shows pilot episode throught to its eleventh series finale, and every episode inbetween. 44 discs. Cert: 12.

just a quick note, voucher can only be used once per account.

Pretty good, it is £49.99 instore.

Hot, but I'd get annoyed with them being on 44 discs. I'll wait for a blueray edition.

I am lost with the logic here? the only reason this would ever be released on Bluray would be if they were released in High Definition, and if released in high definition it would take up the same amount of discs.

No it wouldn't, just because each 22 minute episode would be in HD at a higher bit rate pushing up the overall MB of data per episode you have to bear in mind that a Dual Layer DVD-9 stores 9GB of data whereby a Dual Layer BD-Rom holds 50GB, over 5 times the amount. Also most Dual Layer DVD do not max the capacity, only holding around 6-7GB of data, in that case the maximum capacity of Blu Ray being 8 times the amount.

I doubt if it ever was released on Blu Ray that it would have uncompressed Dolby True HD or DTS Master Audio to push up that amount of data either, but even if it did, it would not equal 44 discs the same.

For example, the recently released Aliens Quadrilogy Boxset on Blu Ray comes with the same bonuses as the existing 9 disk DVD Release and is on 6 Disks and comes with uncompressed DTS HD Master Audio.

So before attempting to belittle someones logic, make sure you have the facts correct yourself.

Ok then it would be less discs but not enough to warrent getting it on Bluray instead.

Check this dvdcollections.co.uk/her…htm

4 disc difference, meaning will only be an 8 disc difference on average. 36 and 44, I would not say worth waiting for and paying a lot extra for. Also I highley doubt they would ever release this in Bluray anyway, so once again flawed logic.

No point trying to turn around what you said to attempt to belittle that person, whether or not it gets released on Blu Ray is irrelevant, you said "if released in high definition it would take up the same amount of discs".

I personally don't think it would get released on Blu Ray, but that is besides the point.

You also haven't in your "assumption" taken into account "if" it ever did get released on Blu Ray, unlike Heroes it would be highly unlikely to be remastered from 2 channel stereo sound to anything else, which would vastly reduce the file size per episode.

I think we can all agree that Frasier is unlikely to be released on Blu-ray.
The content is amazing but the source isn't worth the upgrade.

I still think people were dreaming about the entire X-Files/Buffy etc. collections getting BR treatment. I truly think it will not happen.

I'm with Saturn118 /cicobuff on this one. These large boxset collections should at least start having a blu-ray option, even if the picture and sound were hugely improved, it would greatly reduce the bulk of these boxsets.

Hot deal for price. (maybe not as good as the Friends £29.99 deal of not long ago- similar size boxset)
