Amazon have reduced the price of the Frasier Complete Collection BoxSet, which contains all of the episodes from series 1 to series 11 spread over 44 discs. This is now priced at just £85.57 with free delivery. The next best price I can see online is £149.99 at Play.com, so this seems an absolute bargain.

With its witty dialogue, sophisticated character development, and classic slapstick situations, FRASIER is perhaps best described as the thinking man's FRIENDS. Taking centre stage is pompous radio psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), whose phone-in show serves as much an outlet for his neuroses, as it does a public service for the people of Seattle. Clever intersecting storylines feature a brilliant ensemble cast, including his prim and proper brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce), their gruff retired-cop father Martin (John Mahoney), live-in home care worker Daphne (Jane Leeves), brassy radio producer Roz (Teri Gilpin), and a charismatic Jack Russell terrier named Eddie, with whom Frasier has regular staring contests but never wins. This collection includes the show's pilot episode through to its eleventh series finale, and every episode in between.

Last posted at £130 here on HUKD but the deal was quite short lived...

Wish I had the money, but definately hot.

Yes. This will get hotter and hotter.

My girlfriend and I have just bought the last season of Frasier to complete our joint collection. In general we spent between £10 and £14 per a season of Frasier. As a rough estimate by buying this set you're saving about £50 in the long run.

Although this seems like a good price I can't make my mind up whether or not to recommend buying this set all in 1 go. It will literally take you months to watch all the episodes and by buying the seasons individually we now have a sense of accomplishment that we wouldn't have had if we bought this set.

In my opinion Frasier is the best sitcom ever made but it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. This is most certainly a hot deal if you've had your eye on this for quite a while. If you're not too bothered about saving £50 in the long run then I think it's equally as cool to take your time with the series by buying them individually 1 at a time.

i just hyperventilated at the word "Frasier"

bought season 3 for £15 and season 1 for £10 so this is very very good!!!! 11 seasons for less than £90!!

Love Frasier

Hot love Frasier

44 discs! Now that's the daddy of all boxsets!

Voted extremely hot. Just ordered. As soon as I saw that the price had dropped by this amount my order was placed within minutes. Who know's how long it will stay this low? I doubt the price will go any lower as it is already working out at £7.79 per season. Now if only they would also drop the price of the Stargate SG1 Complete Collection.

I expect there is a major problem with ordering from these people but could somebody tell me what it is?

I know postage is pricey but it is still much cheaper than this.

Looks like a great price.
I'd buy, but it would take me ages to watch it all!

Silly question, but does anyone know if these discs have any additional languages on them?

The DVDs will be fake asian imports.

Honestly I would'nt touch that edition with a 12 foot barge pole. It looks like a cheap asian knock off. Look at the image art on the front cover. They can't even get the pictue of Eddie right. You are much better off getting the UK boxset.

I guess its down to choice in my opinion - I visit china every two years and come back with some films to watch nothing special just what I think is worth watching and so on.

Yes you are right with regards to the main sets or season sets - i asked a few Chinese friends about them being copies and all and the answer I get from them all from 3 different cities - no one knows!!!

Even if you buy them in a Chinese HMV type store. You cant tell if they are original or fake.

The pic you have there looks like a fake set - but I looked up the set oddly enough but had a difference box with all the seals and holo marks etc - and it was half the price than this 85 odd set.

Asked a friend if it was real - he did not know even as we were in a chinese hmv type store (in a superstore).

BUT talking about fakes - this was in the superstore - walked out of the store took a left into the market about 1min away - same set without box under a tenner.

Asked my friend - how does the HMVtype store make money - he said it probably does not on dvds - but on other stuff - everyone one buys from the market.

anyway - not changing the subject or anything like that

the 85 odd for the set - too expensive - i would of got it from the chinese hmv store version (most likely real with the seals etc) but had not enough in my suitcase.

But my last visit to china a few weeks back, the stores (official branded ones) with the latest films (well dvds releases) are about up to a 1/4 - 1/2 less than here.

Crazy I know but - dont know why the UK still charges crazy money for them. i picked up a mickey mouse cartoon dvd for my son - here £7-10 - there i paid £2.50 - got it here and played it here - its the US version with extra choice of 3 asian languages - that was the only difference.

OK all of us cant go there all the time - but just a thought - dvds are still too expensive here.

nothing to do with the deal - good deal if you have the money - but yes can be cheaper.

cheers

Not read the rest of the posts on here but I would imagine they read something like this...

Frasier is the best thing ever to be on tv.

That's a lot of DVDs, it would take 2 Cranes to lift it ;-)

They'll be fake, you might as well buy them from Dodgy Dez at your local pub. Also, HUKD doesn't list international sites as you don't have the same level of consumer protection...

Wish had some spare money. Hot hot hot !

Funnily enough I've been to China three times since 2000 and have always brought back a load of dvd's. However without fail I have found problems with at least a third of them. This is why I always advise people to be wary of buying asian boxsets. It only takes a few duff discs to ruin a whole boxset.

Also £85 certainly is not expensive for what you are getting with the UK boxset. I think most people who end up purchasing this will certainly belieive, as I do, they they have had a bargain.

Wish I had the money for this, excellent deal.

DealExtreme is an international site is it not? Plenty of their deals around here.

As soon as I read this post, I checked with my OH and he agreed - buy it straight away, so I did.
Thanks for posting.

LOL that picture of eddie on the asian box, its not even a jack russell!! This is a terrific deal but do note the region 2 dvds ARE edited, season two in particular eg: Daphne's Room episode. This is only the only cut I know of though

what a great deal if I didn't have 6 seasons already ...

Some international retailers have been passed for posting if we have plenty of feedback about them. DealExtreme is one of them. As a rule of thumb, we don't allow them.

that dvd collects is a horrible website. packaging is no where near as good as the black box set. s'all about the packaging, unfortunately ive bought every series on release, which means the first 4 have different sized boxes. great.

loooooooooooooove frasier

I was going to buy this last Xmas, but too expensive.
Bought it straight away now! Great post!

Great deal - 87 quid with first class delivery.

No idea when I'll ever have time to watch it all but this was my favourite TV program and can't be turned up at this price. I haven't been buying much in the expectation of the blue ray versions, but BR must be irrelevant in this case.

Thanks OP

I've bought all 11 individually - most from the U.S. 'cos they were released earlier.

I must have spent over £200 in total - absolute mug but there you go:oops:

I don't think so.

I've got the US version but without that nice big box to put them in! The disappointing thing is that there are very few DVD extras in each of the seasons, some seasons contain none, a few early ones have some embarrassing slap togethers of a single characters "funny bits", luckily the final season does have some.

Regardless of the lack of extras, we've really enjoyed our journey through one of the most consistently high quality comedies of all time. We've got 2 disks left of the last season and we've been watching one or two a night since Xmas!

Banned

when someone gets this could they confirm the languages

thanks

I always told myself, I would buy this when the price went under £100, but I can't bring myself to spend £85 on it

heat and rep added

It IS an excellent deal but I was slowly building my collection up and have 2 seasons which I paid about 15 each for so if I got this it would push over 100....

I would think it would be around the 50-60 quid mark by Christmas like Friends last year, and can wait for that - if I hadn't got the other two I would get this deal

I wonder if this will hit 50 or 60 quid eventually like the Friends or James Bond boxsets.

i am tempted at £85 though. :whistling:
