I shop at netto frequently and i can honestly say I have never seen FB pies more expensive than this.

Other store prices this week, same product:
£1.00 each in Iceland
£1.52 each in Asda
£1.52 each in Tesco

I put a steak and kidney one in the oven and fifteen mins later there was the most awful smell of hot stinky pee!!! It must have been the kidneys!! I havent gone near them since ugh!

I agree. Yuk!

yeah trully the worst taste ever How this firm operates at a profit is beyond me I would sooner eat dog food

yuk yuk yuk! i wouldn't even feed this to my dog!!

yuk disgusting muck

FB Steak & Kidney pies? luv' em.............and because they come in a tin they are a great "standby" dinner. Not the kind of thing you'd have everyday but still a good buy.

I hate Marmite (disgusting stuff) but do I vote Marmite deals cold? No I don't..........

Netto deals never go down very well on HDUK. If it was Tesco offering the same deals prices get voted a lot hotter.....

Wenchybev - it was a good post but you'll find there are a lot of food snobs on this site (btw I'm not referring to any of the above posters - look at some of the McDonalds/Burger King/cheap chicken thighs threads)

It's not the fact that it's a Netto deal that's making this cold, it's the fact that the product is terrible, whoever sells it. If it was 1p I still wouldn't eat one. It's a pie in a tin. And the expiry date is years away. What else can you say?

Filthy muck. What has your life come to if you resort to eating ****-laden dog-food pies in a tin. For the love of God, get off your bum and make something decent for yourself. I'd even rate Pot Noodles above this rancid bilge.

Someone should have a word with this guy....lol

Had these before.
Not great at all, very greasy, but not the worst pie I've ever had.

The pastry on these are lovely, the filling is rank tho

For some people its not about time - its about money. By 4 pot noodles for the family or have this with some spuds? I know what I'd choose. I have a decent standard of living now but when I was a kid, this was a good meal, better than jam sandwiches.....

But then again I think marmite is filthy muck (look at the salt content) but I don't preach to people not to eat it.

I fully appreciate what you're saying. When I was a kid, I think my mum threw a couple of these bad boys past me as well. But that was a long time ago, and nowadays, for the price of this pie & the spuds you were talking about, you could make make something that's a little bit nicer:

e.g. Bubble & Squeak, using potatoes, perhaps a little corned beef/bacon off-cuts (i.e. v cheap) and maybe a small bit of cabbage. Parboil the spuds, mash. Mix with the meat and cabbage and fry in a pan. Perhaps add some diced carrot or frozen peas for extra flavour.

The point is, you can eat just as cheaply and not have total filth, and it doesn't take that long either. Plus, using the frying pan for 5 minutes takes less electricity than heating the pie up in the oven for 20 minutes. It just takes a little bit of ingenuity is all.

If you have have two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf with one penny and an orchid with the other! [chinese proverb]

Feed the soul as well as the tummy.

Same price, infinitely tastier
