fre:ac is a free audio converter and CD ripper with support for various popular formats and encoders. It currently converts between MP3, MP4/M4A, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC, WAV and Bonk formats.

With fre:ac you easily rip your audio CDs to MP3 or WMA files for use with your hardware player or convert files that do not play with other audio software. You can even convert whole music libraries retaining the folder and filename structure.

The integrated CD ripper supports the CDDB/freedb online CD database. It will automatically query song information and write it to ID3v2 or other title information tags.

Which file? Which virus scanner?

Just downloaded freac-1.0.32.exe and freac-1.0.32-bin.zip. Checked with Kaspersky and no problem.

Of course there could be a Russian virus that Kaspersky ignores.

Obviously a false positive, only 1/64 for the installer in Virus Total, what's your antivirus?
Been using this for ages.

Works very well.
Looks good. Thanks.
Windows Defender detected a virus too?
Great program, I use it all the time. Also recommend foobar2000 for any audio formats this can't handle.
Anyone know how to get free YouTube downloader?

Anyone know how to get free YouTube downloader?

Try Any Video Converter ...

any-video-converter.com/pro…re/

You only need the free version.

I used to use Offliberty but it seemed to stop working for YouTube a few months ago.

Does this software actually do anything Foobar can't?

Try an online YouTube downloader like KeepVid - no need to download an app.

Hi,

I've been using VDownloader for downloading from YouTube for past few years or so...here's the link vdownloader.com
Can anyone recommend a utility to spilt a (lets say hour long) mp3 into separate tracks. The freeer and easier to use the better.

No it didn't.

Thanks for asking.

It's for desktops (Mac/Windows). As far as I am aware, there is not a mobile version for iPhone/Blackberry/Android.

There are various excellent ones out there with varying degrees of complexity.

In the studio I use Audacity (quite a steep learning curve) ...

audacityteam.org/dow…ad/

For day to day use try mp3splt-gtk which is open source and available on Linux/Mac/Windows. You can split tracks/albums manually or automatically and it is even available in a portable version.

mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3…php

or

portableapps.com/app…ble

Hope that helps.

It did for me? I just said.
How does this compare to Format Factory (which I've used for donkey's years)?

Lol, Kaspersky has taken quite a hammering of late, huh?.

Putin has a wee bit to answer for on that front I'm assuming/perhaps? (though who's to say for sure).

The saying of not putting all your egg's in one basket, readily comes to mind a bit here?.

Try a different Anti-Virus instead perhaps?.

And/or possibly a different Audio Converter instead? (a few people have listed a fair few software, and/or online 'alternatives' above now, for your perusal of course?). :-)
