Redeem the offer before Jan 31st 2015 at google.com/chr…tml

FAQ thread on this here..

support.google.com/chr…d=1

This does not apply to refurb machines

Trying to redeem this offer for a Chromebook bought in early September results in a "not eligible" error-- so "recently purchased" appears to mean more recently than that.

Icloud is way better.

people keeping their whole life on someone elses computer is just insane either way (but I'm not voting) - they scan all your files for data to use for targeted ads (that is in Googles own TOS !! - and the data can be hacked by anyone - definition of insane if you ask me

You'd be more believable if you'd said that about just about any other cloud provider.

Better how? care to elaborate.

iCloud only gives you 5GB for free , this is 1TB!!

enable 2 factor auth on your google account and you are set security wise(apple implemented this only recently)

If I had to choose between Google and Apple, Google is the better evil..

EDIT: i will not even step into the security concerns of apple account

That seems like a valuable skill.. care to share

For those out there concerned about cloud hosted data getting hacked, you need to consider the fact that your data is far more likely to get hacked on your home pc. Cloud services are very secure these days

Sounds good, until you read the 1TB space is only for two years.

but everything backed up stays backed up. you can continue to access the files. but you can't edit them only remove them if you choose.
