Lot of controversy about fox hunting on National Trust land. Of course NT saying they only allow 'trail hunting' but been a number of 'mistakes' where foxes have been chased and killed, also hunts have terrier men with them. Consequently for some people they would never support and fund the NT. Not intending a thread about fox hunting, but simply if it's important to you, consider if you will fund the NT. It's a personal choice.
That's a fair point. But thought this site was all about if a price is a good deal or not. Not a animal rights/political sounding/ranting box.

Thanks for your comment. I know this is a site for deals, but I really appreciate comments on ethics like this. Something personally I try to consider as much as possible.

Might cheaper joining a foreign national trust style charity that has reciprocal arrangements with NT?

Never had any problems last year with either parking or gaining entrance. Works perfectly.

They've tightened up on it now with automated barriers and card readers to stop the freeloaders.

Lol, It is not freeloading at all, I pay for a membership and I spend money at the cafe and shop whilst there. Money they would not have if I had not visited.

I looked yesterday. They have closed the loopholes. Membership number needed for car parks (not just the pass)

So on that basis, given that the concession is intended for Scottish members living in Scotland, it's OK to forge a ticket to get into, say, Alton Towers - because you'd spend money at the cafes and shops. Money they would not have if you had not visited.

I've just got the Scottish NT renewal documents through the door.
The car park stickers don't include any membership numbers.

Heritage New Zealand is about £50 for family membership, No parking permit but it also includes admission to English Heritage properties

If by any chance they ask for me to pay to park then I will pay the parking fees, not a problem. I doubt they will though.

You have to get a ticket from the machines. As I said, your car park sticker is no longer sufficient. All car parks require a ticket which once you enter your membership number you will be issued with a free ticket ( if you qualify - English NT members). Otherwise you have to pay (the sticker means nothing in a English NT car park).

Thanks for the info.
You mentioned just English NT members that get a free ticket.
Just to clarify, does the free ticket apply for Scottish NT members using their passes in English NT properties too?

And that's for the senior membership not adult joint? It's £85.20 for thr England one and with the £10 voucher there's not much of a saving.
