The promotional credit must be redeemed on Amazon.co.uk, towards the purchase of products listed on and sold by Amazon.co.uk.
I've been to 3/4 paypoints and everyone's machine is broken at the post office the guy said he doesn't know how to do it, randomly scanned the code but didn't work.

Interesting that ...

Is there a workaround, around that perhaps? (anyone?).

I get funny looks too but I said just scan it (the barcode on your phone) and he just went oh yeh it worked, how much, handed the cash over and he goes ok yeh all done, printed receipt from shop and amazon email to notify of top-up, he didn't even know it was a thing.

I think if you tell them to treat it like a top-up (like paygo phones) they might be able to prepare themselves mentally and on the machine on which bit to select.
I tried 6 different shops, the seventh paypoint i could see his scanner and i made him scan it with an overly intense tom cruise scientology stare and it worked. Any paypoint with a scanner should be fine if you can convince them you come in peace

Paypoints were broken, shopkeepers were very uncertain / suspicious, 2 epay stores had absolutely no clue what epay was so i gave up on epay. I tried asking the post office to treat it like a top up and they scanned it, it beeped and did nothing.

If this has been around so long it obviously isn’t very popular or well promoted.
The bloke at my local Co-op hadnt heard of it before, but he found the option on his terminal , and tried to scan the code from my mobile phone screen, this didnt work - so I returned later with a paper copy which scanned properly and the credit was added to my account. The whole idea of a laser scanner scanning a barcode on an lcd screen seems daft, has anyone seen this actually succeed?.

Yes! That is exactly what I did in our local co op. The girl just scanned the barcode on my phone and asked how much I wanted to top up. And that was a girl who appears to be working as some sort of care in the community; so it can't be that difficult.

Will try again with that approach, I think the nonexistent paypoint on the map is actually the co op near it

I always buy £40 amazon credit at Paypoint (my barcode never scans) then go home and contact amazon customer service via online chat and they always add the promo on to my account after I added the amazon top up code (5 mins of your time).

Always? How many times have you redeemed the offer in this way?
Thanks OP, forgot about this offer so just topped up. Got an email immediately confirming the £10 bonus for next purchase.
Can someone just explain what barcode from where please? I know my local Paypoint shop, can I just buy Amazon credit on Visa?

"How does Amazon Top Up In-Store work?
There are now two easy ways to purchase Amazon Top Ups. You can either request a top up barcode through your Amazon app which you can present at any PayPoint store and pay in cash to update your Amazon Gift Card balance. Or, you can request a Top Up amount at the till to get a unique code printed on your receipt to redeem online"

Top up has to be cash or debit card I believe (not credit card).

Depends on the Paypoint. I've used one Paypoint (family run newsagent) and they only accept cash. Last time I used the co-op and paid by amex.
Thank you

Thanks op. I tried two stores (BP Garage & a One Stop) both failed to top-up for me. Tried a Co-op and I said about treat as mobile top-up and it worked PLUS no issue paying by card.

Had emails from Amazon before I had even left the store.
Just managed to top up £40 (cash) at my local Co-op using printed out top up barcode AFTER failing 2 Paypoint newsagents
The first one said "Not working" as soon as he saw my barcode paper, the second one said "No...how much do you want? £40? no..we don't"

Just waiting the bonus £10 to come in to my account which is supposedly within an hour.
