As is says, free 12 month subs. The dvd player has Toshibas new upscaling technology in it which going by the reviews is the best yet!
The subscription is by way of a voucher available through the link on the play website. This voucher may be available through other retailers, but i saw it on play, so play gets the credit.
Available in 2 days time as its not quite released yet.
Also a pretty good price for this ground breaking dvd player!

XDE Technology
Toshiba's new XDE (eXtended Detail Enhancement) technology. XDE provides more than just upscaling, by enhancing video and detail closer to the HD experience, XDE technology lets consumers enjoy their existing DVD libraries in a whole new way. Take a look at the XD-E500 Upscaling DVD player and take advantage of this new and exciting technology.

To take picture quality to the next level the XD-E500 uses these video processes to produce three different modes - Sharp, Colour and Contrast - which ensures that the player produces the best possible picture based on the type of content being watched

lol no worries...

women...if speed impresses you...give me a call;-)

seems a great deal but also depends on what deal you get at Lovefilm. It could be 2 discs a month max, or unlimnted with 1 at a time. Hopefully it would be at least unlimited 2 discs at a time.

Could be worth buying one with Varisty/Quidco then flogging it for £100 and you will probably break even.

Check out the review at what hi-fi ]http//wh…00/

4 capped with 2 at a time would be fine for me. I might just go for this deal and sell the player! H&R to you!

not sure how many years is the standard warranty on this but if gone through JohnLewis, would provide 2yrs warranty and 99p less :whistling:

It's still 48 movies for free. You can't really complain at that as a bonus.

Most of us get unlimited DVD's from Lovefilm anyway and a lot more than just four a month and all for free.

agreed, but for this price along with the free offer (which must come to about the same price) its a great dvd player, for very little money.

this is £10 cheaper at amazon but I don't know if you would get the lovefilm subscription if buying through them, the ]t&c's just mention that you need to buy a "qualifying product"

edit: found the list of ]qualifying products

Heat added but as you can purchase a Tosh DVD gizmo up until 31st Jan 2009 to qualify for this deal, I'll wait a few months until the price drops...

By which time I'll have cancelled by current LoveFilm sub and no doubt Tosh will have released a firmware update or two for this player! :whistling:

anyone know if you can rent games with the lovefilm subscription they give you?

Don't think so. Looks like it is the 4 DVDs max per month with 2 at a time.

Maybe you could contact customer services and pay to upgrade to a games package?

i think £99 now at john lewis with lovefilm and 2 years warranty, not sure so check it out. I want this
