Free £150 Alpine EZI-DAB Car Radio Adapter With Orders Over £150 @ Mister Auto

Found 27th Jun 2016
Got this email today from Mister Auto, seems you get a free Alpine EZI-DAB Car Radio Adapter, with orders over £150 until this coming Wednesday.

Seems amazing really if you are needing to spend this much on some car parts anyway, the Alpine EZI-DAB looks to sell for about £140 online.

Apparently Tyres were not included in this free DAB unit offer, despite not mentioning these T & C's it on their website or email!

If you didnt get the Alpine Dab Unit and are not happy with the excuses Mister Auto have given please leave your thoughts and complain here.

Lol yeah sadly I don't need any parts at the moment but I have spent over £150 there a few months back, typical!
Looks identical to the Pure one posted yesterday for £50: hotukdeals.com/dea…163

I find it hard to believe this is cold - if you were thinking of buying one of these units you effectively get around £150 of car parts for nothing seeing as Amazon are currently selling them for £160!
Also, they sell tyres, oil etc, if you're not into doing your own repairs.

Apparently, that unit is just DAB, whereas this is DAB & DAB+. (Also, DMBR Band III and L-Band support, whatever that is...)
Unlike the Pure 300di, Alpine claims this model supports DAB+, which sounds interesting and future-proof.
But it's not necessarily is true
Crazy this has been voted cold. Just ordered the usual Goodyear tyres for my car for 200 quid for 2. Plan to sell the DAB unit and make them a very cheap buy. No brainer. No idea how the company are making any money doing this. Cheers OP!

The Pure 300Di also supports DAB+, DMB-R Band III and Band L. Just like this model.

I received the email to, I needed tyres so ordered £170 worth , more expensive by about £20 but the Alpine Dab would make up for it nicely. Tyres arrived today , no Alpine. Contacted Mister Auto and reply said tyres were not included! No where on the email or the website said this, they are making the rules up as they go! Will avoid promotions from Mister Auto in future as they cannot be trusted, in fact thinking about it I'll never buy from them again.

I had a good look for any conditions before putting my orders in and couldn't find any. I've had one delivery which didn't include the unit, but under my orders it looks like it's sent out as a separate delivery. Did you 'add' the free gift to your basket when you ordered, and was it shown on your confirmation email? If so I would be tempted to tell them to collect their tyres and refund as they are in breach of the contract.

I used to use them quite a bit, but I have found that their prices have risen somewhat in the last few years and you can usually find parts cheaper these days.
Thanks for coming back, youre right there were no conditions on the email or website. When the Tyres arrived this morning I said to the Parcelforce delivery guy did he have a separate box. I emailed them straight away and this is what I received below from them as reply to the status of my DAB unit. There were no conditions anywhere to be seen, they are dishonest. It said for any spend over £150!
"Thank you for contacting Mister-Auto.
The promotion for the DAB radio was not inclusive of purchases for tyres. This was written on the promotion itself that it counts for car parts and not for tyres of any kind, so it will not be possible for us to send out the DAB radio to you.
Should you have any further queries do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Mister-Auto customer service

Did you get the DAB unit? I ordered tyres and they said they did not qualify. I screen grabbed the offer and I have the email which states free with any spend over £150! Not happy to be conned in this way.
I would be inclined to get them to collect the tyres and refund you. If there was no T&Cs mentioning this and it was not obvious they are in the wrong.

I would play it like that as the only reason you made the order was because of the incentive of the offer.

Received another reply that Tyres and also Exhausts were not included, have pointed out this could be the case but they forgot to tell anyone and include that vital information on their mail shot and website. Coincidentally I received an invitation to review them on Trustpilot which I have now done. I will await further comms from them.

Can confirm I received my tyres and the DAB unit via Parcelforce yesterday. I had to order another item to make the offer appear (just cheapest thing I could find), that then brought the offer up and allowed me to add the free DAB unit to my basket. Hope you manage to get one!

Well done, they are being really bolshy with me still! Will have to send the tyres back, no point without the DAB as they cost another £30 more than the best price I can get in the UK!
Just had an email saying They can't supply the dab radio what a joke after they have shipped the rest of the order. I only went with them due to the radio as I could get the parts cheaper elsewhere
The Mister AUTO Alpine radio offer was a fiasco! Parts OK, but no radio - OUT OF STOCK! Surprise! Surprise!
Gave me a £0.00 refund! Mister Auto get no more business from me!

If you didn't receive the DAB unit for one of many excuses by Mister Auto and promotion made your buying decision to purchase car parts from them by the special offer for an Alpine DAB unit then quickly fill in the complaint form at the Advertising Standards Agency and leave review at Trust pilot as they have handled this promotion badly and unfairly.

Thank you - already done with both.
I have completed a trustpilot review today and just looking into the ASA option does anyone have any screenshots of the offer and the T&C?

thanks

Great news, the more the merrier.

I only have email offers from Mister Auto. The ASA wanted these complete with the 'Header' which is personal to me. Sorry!
No problem it was worth asking, I was told two products where out of stock so they cancelled. Just checked website the only item not in stock is the dab radio and they have removed it off their site.
have also contacted mister-auto who are washing their hands of the mess they've got themselves into. Have asked for a copy of the T&C's for the offer, but nothing back yet.

I didn't take a screenshot, but took a printout of the webpages as I went through the order process. It is clear that there were no T&C's displayed excluding certain items on their website and no T&C's on the marketing emails they sent out advertising the offer. I had two emails, one on Monday with the offer and another on Wednesday two days later. Any errors or omissions would have been noticed on day 1.
The marketing emails and promotion on the website wasn't a figment of my imagination; however the claim of T&C's seem to exist in a parallel universe somewhere to which only mister-auto are privy

ASA now have a copy of my printouts so the wheels are slowly turning. I've given mister-auto ten days to reply confirming their position and if necessary I'll be off to small claims, which is an easy process, and/or contacting my credit card supplier for a charge back. There's also a European small claims process.

mister-auto need to sort this mess out before it damages their reputation
I rejected on attempted delivery of the 3 parcels of my £150+ of orders - one yesterday and two today on their Customer Services instruction.
The Mister Auto website now says "Awaiting Reimbursement" against each parcel and a note saying that the Refund will be issued within 5 working days. We shall see!
It must be costing them a fortune in return carriage charges
Rejected my parcel today and also contacted ASA. I am not sure if I am wasting my time but that's what we all do this for
1.5 million customers in 21 countries, return carriage won't be a problem for them, neither is honouring their marketing promotion. Okay they knew exactly what they were doing and miscalulated slightly. It's a drop in the ocean for them, they need to take it on the chin and not weasel their way out of a mess of their own making.
In the business I'm in we guarantee our service and honouring that guarantee costs money on the odd occasion it's called upon, it's called honesty and integrity, anybody can cherry pick, sell cheaper and tell customers where to go when things don't go the way they wanted.
mister-auto need to grow up rather than spitting their dummy, it'll be interesting to see if ASA say anything
Brilliant!
customer_service@mister-auto.com on the trust pilot website as contact for mister-auto bounces back as non existent
try contacting trust pilot to ask them for a real email address for mister-auto and you have to fill a form in that asks for a topic, but doesn't have a 'drop-down' so it's impossible to choose a topic. Without a topic you can't contact Trust Pilot.
customer_service@mister-auto.co.uk hasn't bounced back yet. How incompetent is this company?

spoke too soon .co.uk bounces back as well
looks like small claims or credit card charge back then

Anyone notice the Dab radio is back in stock on their website?
Scandalous. Just confirms the contempt they have for their customers.
I've just had a new order confirmation for the Dab radio anyone else
Yes - new order confirmation for me too! I'll believe it when I see it.
I've refused to accept 2 deliveries - totalling the whole order of £150 plus. Been refunded on one delivery already. Balance of refund promised within two days.
In my Mister Auto account there is a live order for the DAB radio £0.00. - "Being prepared".
Do I send it back if I receive it? What on earth are they playing at?
I may have to "eat" my previous Post.

I have been asked to get in touch with the courier for my declined parcel if i still want the item. As you do i let it go back and see if i get a free DAB radio. I have had one item (best priced item ie cant get cheaper elsewhere) cancelled out my order as they cant supply although its still in stock on their website.

drrbr1 what are you going to do pm if you want to discuss offline
