Well Revolut is a card so you can make payment in many places that take cards and don't do PayPal in person or pay online especially abroad without any fees.
Also if you loose the card or it get cloned the croocks can only clear what's on the card, not on the account.

Also handy when you want to do some online shopping abroad and the site might look a bit iffy - you create a virtual card and use it once for that purchase.

Be warned!

I created an account recently and deposited £10 to obtain a physical card which I was told I could refund to my main bank account immediately/instantly.
This is absolutely not the case. You have to verify your account before you can do this and I could not do this - I do not drive and my passport expired recently. Even though I provided loads of other verifiable documentation - more than my high street bank requires - it was not accepted. The passport obviously proved who I was, particularly as I submitted a photo of me holding it. Just because a passport has recently expired doesn't mean that you cease to be that person.

The only way to contact these guys is through the app (bit of a worry there if it is a login problem). You cannot telephone and the in-app chat can take a couple of days just for an initial response.

They finally but begrudgingly returned MY money but only when I threatened them with the Financial Conduct Authority. It took a considerable length of time to persuade them to give me my cash.

I am sure they have their benefits and, for some, may be very good - so long as things run smoothly.

You get the interbank exchange rate when using it abroad. If you just plan on using it in the UK, you’re right theres many services which can do the same thing.
best thing ever for travel. £1.50 credit as well this is going to get warm.

I like instant notifications on monzo. Pretty sure this does the same. Try getting your bank to ping instantly
Had one for a while. Used it in Turkey, Poland and UK. Brilliant.
What do you get when you refer someone anyway? Doesn't mention rewards.
I have used for several years works well has additional security but in the card so you can block different types of transactions. Also when you return from holiday easy to withdraw any money you have left without fees unlike fairfx
Is the rate better than Halifax clarity card?

I think we broke it. Took my money and stuck on verification. I'm sure it will sort itself though and no ID needed either.

Yep. As proof of UK residency.
Worked everywhere for me.
Except for one, didn't work self service Petrol Station of ASDA. I was so bumped. I think it will work in future.

My experience is it shows how you spend your money as well. It's all free.

Every 10 use, you get perks like tiny bit of discounts. I liked the one McDonald up to £4, 50 percent cash back. I tested it and it works. . Yes all for free. Plus £1 a day travel insurance if your flying away.

Handy card. I have only used in UK online stores, buses, train, supermarket stores, retail stores, etc.

Just like a normal card which need topping up. Balance has to be over £10.

Use it if you like to budget yourself and control on your spending.

Is this credit or debit? Sorry for the silly question just a little confused from the comments!

I use both, one Visa, one Mastercard; and if there are problems with one the other is always there - and they use slightly different methods of loading, which I quite like. Revolut does seem to have some very very small advantages (for me) over Starling. I believe Starling is actually a bank too, whereas Revolut more of a 'charge card'.

Debit. The offer grants you a balance (credit) of £1.50 for free once you have signed up.

I've had a card for 2 years, used it in the states and across Europe. Wouldn't be without it now, I use the free service but would pay if I had to as I feel it's a better all round service than the competition offers.

This is a pre-paid card. You add funds in it and spend. Good especially if you go abroad, as you don't pay for currency exchange. Also, good if you do not feel comfortable to carry with you your bank card. In case if you lose this, you can block it via the app.
So do you have to pay Revolut anything fees when your £1.50 expires and can you use this balance anywhere. I only live in UK so will never travel outside this beloved country, can I use this in retail stores or pay online with Asda or instore.

After my £1.50 finishes can I topup online using my bank card and then keep topping up and using it making online orders.

Let's say you want to topup £20.00 on your Revolut card do you have to pay a fee to use their card or pay to keep the card activated through your journey with Revolut
How is £1.50 a deal? Seriously

You don't pay anything. You top up without a fee and use the funds when you want, in shops and at ATM. You have to check, as you have only so many withdrawals a month, if you exceed these, you have to pay a fee. However, I do not know about this deal, but when I applied for my Revolut, I had to verify the account, basically to load £10 in my account, once you receive the card, you will have your money on it.

Starling pings instantly. That’s a bank card. So I guess we don’t need to try to get my bank to do that.
May the force be with you Obiwan11.
Revolut also gives a bank account number and sort code, money can be directly transferred from another bank. Though it takes around 2 hours to show in Revolut.

So when holidaying abroad, is it better to use something like this, rather than using 'real' money which I've changed for the local currency, e.g. getting euros from an exchange ?
Revolut gives interbank exchange rate better than mastercard (starling, aqua, monzo), just avoid using this on weekends overseas as it adds some extra overhead to exchange rate.

Absolutely, also in Revolut you can exchange currencies anytime (between available currencies) and keep it for a later use.
On transaction in the currency's home country first that will be used, then the main currency account will be debited.

I've both cards, but can't get the revolut to do the notifications, can it do it
Btw I use mine mainly when I go out drinking, that way if I lose it, and can freeze the card or worse only lose the money on the card
It shows me that I need to top up by £10 to confirm/get the card... no mention of the £1.50?

Is that the correct link?
