As with human food, some dog foods have a much higher proportion of good ingredients than others, which are packed out with "derivatives" and cheap fillers, usually wheat. Bakers complete chicken and vegetable, for example, contains 4% chicken and 4% vegetables.

The JB food on offer here, from their site, contains "turkey (26%), rice (26%), oats (19%), linseed (4%), turkey gravy (3%), alfalfa (2%), seaweed (0.7%), yucca extract (0.02%), chicory extract (0.12%), glucosamine (0.0275%), chondroitin (0.0225%), parsley (0.1%), nettle (0.1%)".

It's expensive because it's better, simply.

Thanks...will collect them and drop off to local rescue centre!

cheer's OP.

I am going to get this (thanks OP) - but I note the ingredient Maize (Corn) features high on the list - which is really bad for a cat's digestion. It can cause the gut to distend and bleed. So if you have a cat with a sensitive gut do not feed this food.
I've never understood why these premium brands add maize/corn to the mix, it is like an unnecessary bulking agent and cheaper in fact than meat, which at the prices JWB charge for a 1.5kg bag is a mercinary profit.
Google corn in catfood and the problems it can cause it if you doubt me. One of our cats bled severly because a catfood she had used corn in the ingredients, she was in a lot of pain. As soon as we stopped it, it all cleared up.
The best dry cat foods are high meat based with necessary additions, like Applaws or Porta 21 Feline - you can bulk buy both on Zooplus (I know they're not free - just putting it out there for cat owners).
On the bright side the bag of food will happily feed the local hedgehogs (those that have not yet hibernated), so I am grateful for the free voucher.

4 places to pick up near me, so 4 for me and 4 for the girlfriend, lovely! Thanks op

Just wondering, are we all given different codes for each product or are they all the same.
Anyone else getting dog food and if so what are the last six numbers on your voucher???

I always buy Applaws dry food for my cat. I bought a huge sack of Porta 21 too a while back and she didn't like it which was annoying as it was much cheaper than the Applaws. Oh well, she really doesn't cost much in the grand scheme of things

Note to anyone feeding their cat Go Kat - buy Harringtons instead. Its still not ideal but has about ten times the meat that Go Kat etc do.

Thanks just got my voucher, nice deal

Great find, voted hot.

All you said ,I agree, I have to feed applaws (from Zooplus ) to my cat ,people think I spoil her and she is fussy but if I buy cheaper products she either turns up her nose or as you said you get a spot of blood (now I know what that is - saved paying a vet )
