4 active direct debits, kills it for me. Otherwise a good deal.

The pay in is irrelevant to be honest. You can move £100 back and forth 13 times if you really cannot afford to move £1250 in one go.
The 4 active direct debits is much trickier!

Isn't this the deal that's been running for ages now?

This website allows £1 direct debits, after the card fee the rest (~80p) goes to charity. Obviously you can set up more as a direct debit to the charity of your choice!

How long do you have to stay
I recently got their credit card. Customer service has been brilliant. Had an issue I thought would take ages to sort. The rep put me on hold and called several different departments herself and fixed it all in 10 minutes.
£175 with HSBC isn’t this a better option?..

I have a m and s credit card that I've had since October 2019, will I get £220 if I switch my bank account over?

Switched to them, and couldn't wait to leave. Messed up the switch, messed up the DD's, and took ages to sort it. However, free £180 makes the hassle worth while, if you have a spare bank account to switch out of... but would not risk it with your primary account.
How ok g does it take to recieve gift card ?
Offer ends 6th or 7th of January
What if you have used this switching service in the past?

You will not qualify if you had the incentive before , doesn't matter if you switched before or not and when .

Yes. One gift card of £100 , 30 days after the switch , if you cover all criterias and one card of £120 after 1 year of switch , subject to criteria as well .
Had their online banking got any better? It used to be pretty terrible

Aha, I always have a few charity £1 month DDs setup for this...
Do I need to have the 4 direct debits on the account I am switching from OR can I add them post switching?

Awful online banking and outdated services. They really live up to their old fashioned image when it comes to their banking.
Would I need to tell my work to put my pay into the new account? Or is it automatic with the switch service.
First phone contracts, now banks! Tie you down at any opportunity
Rather have the cash.
Does anyone else also still feel as if they do not belong, when shopping at M&S? For all the restructuring / the planned closure, they've still maintained that air of superiority imo which makes it stuffy to walk in (not just the price).

12 months and pay in each month a minimum of £1200
I'm sure it wasn't 4 direct debits when I took the deal years ago or has that changed for old customers to? I did notice they don't text me to say £5 gas been added to gift card each month
Edited by: "MR1123" 2nd Jan
The first payment is after 30days and 4 dd must be moved over and £1200 paid in each month. The extra £80 Is paid after 12 calendar months from opening and each month you must have £1200 paid in and 4 active dd
MR112302/01/2020 20:38

Do they still do the £5 a month on gift card?

Not that I'm aware of?
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights section

They must be switched for your account not newly set up

I found it good since their upgrade a few months ago

I see its included already. It's actually £100 switch and £80 will be given £6.66 a month on gift card I think.

Okay I'm wrong this offer is different to about a year ago. Before it was about £100 to switch and £60 if you meet the criteria each month, you would get £5 gift card a month. But now it's seem they are giving it all together.
I’d struggle to spend £180 in M&S on anything I actually wanted

No it's not. This is £5 more.
M&S Bank is operated by HSBC. Figure that one out!
Great bank, I love them
