Hot!

Is it really worth it considering it will leave a mark on your credit rating?

I decided to go for it in the end, but when they accepted my application this came up:

Thank you for applying for a Barclaycard. We have reviewed your application and although we are unable to provide you with the rate you originally applied for, we are happy to offer you the following Barclaycard:

Barclaycard Platinum credit card with a 21.9% Representative APR (variable).

You'll still benefit from our 0% interest on balance transfers for 14 months, with a 2.9% handling fee (on amounts up to 90% of available credit) as long as you transfer the balances within 60 days of us opening your account, plus 0% interest on purchases for 14 months.

Representative Example

− Representative APR: 21.9% (variable)
− Purchase Rate p.a.: 21.9% (variable)
− Assumed Credit Limit: £1200

Did anyone else get this?

My APR after the offer period on that card is 19.9%. Looks like they change it to suit themselves depending on how they feel about your credit record.

mine just came back at 21% and i have good credit

According to credit expert.com my credit rating/score is excellent and is 999 on their chart. Strange.

yeah more like they had a limited number of lower %'s and they have gone. thats my guess

I bank with Barclays and i wanted a Virgin loan last year but i couldnt get it because i didnt have a good enough score. I had no previous loan historyI so i got a loan with Barclays and paid it off early then i was able to get a virgin loan easily as i now have a perfect credit score.

[b]Thank you for applying for a Barclaycard. We have reviewed your application and although we are unable to provide you with the rate you originally applied for, we are happy to offer you the following Barclaycard:

Barclaycard Platinum credit card with a 24.9% Representative APR (variable).

I am not happy with 24.9%!!!

Very strange, because I spoke to customer services last night and it was 0% interest for 22 months, not 14, with a 3.2% balance transfer fee. I questioned why it was different from the advertised offer and they just said that offers do change.

I would ring them and ask for a longer period, then pay off the balance before that APR kicks in.

Just wondering if anyone has received their £20 Amazon voucher yet?

I applied for the Barclaycard account, spent the required amount and am now waiting for the voucher.

When I spoke to customer services, they said 'it should be along shortly'.

I think I have had the account for about 40 days, so not quite the 45. And have paid off my first statement.

Not received the voucher yet - I met the requirements to spend £100 within thirty day, supply an email address and wait 45 days.

Just got off the phone to customer services and they will not be sending the voucher, no reason given, but will credit £20 to my account.

Customer services have just told me that the 45 days are 45 working days. Why they couldn't make that clear in the terms and conditions I don't know.

I am still waiting for mine and my OHs to arrive it has been nearly 45 working days for ours.

two weeks ago I called CS somewhere in India and was told that I would get it during the first week of Nov.

So why are they crediting accounts with £20 rather than the Amazon voucher.

I sent an online message to query the missing voucher (over 45 days had passed), and apart from an initial 'we'll look into it' response, I've heard nothing else since (now over a week ago.)

Not impressed.

I've not yet had a response to my query, but I did this evening receive an email from Barclaycard with the Amazon code for a £20 gift certificate, which I've been able to successfully apply to my account - result!

Still waiting for mine been 45 working days last Friday

Didnt know anything about this offer but was recently sent the £20 voucher after signing up with them.

Does anybody know if you have to use the voucher within a certain timeframe?

just a warning to anyone still waiting for theirs, went to use mine and it says it has already been redeemed

I haven't had mine yet. I have incurred cost by making two 35 minute conversations where I would be kept on hold for 10 minutes at a time and just silence whilst the staff member 'looked into my enquiry'. I was twice told that I 'did not qualify' when I argued that I did, and the details on my online account prove this. I was offered £15.00 reimbursement for the telephone calls and told I would be sent the voucher code to my email address.. this was 3 days ago - but still no voucher?

I am going to call them tomorrow afternoon about it.

There is a freephone number for BC on saynoto0870.com
