Betfair are offering a free £25 bet on the Grand National this weekend. You'll have to put the £25 bet on yourself, and then you'll get it back (this worked for me, and lots of others, last year). New accounts only.

1) Open your account (takes less than 3 mins) using promotion code NAT333.
2) Once you've made a deposit into your account, place your bet.
3) If your first matched or "each way" bet loses, we'll credit your account with the value of your stake (up to £25) within 48 hrs.

DON'T FORGET THE PROMO CODE WHEN REGISTERING. Terms and Conditions apply.

Have a look at the Boylesports deal - put down a £10 and they double it!!!! :-D

Don't forget to go through quidco if you do this

Just to let you know that you must spend at least £75 at betfair to qualify for quidco

can you then withdraw the refunded £25 back to your bank account or are you stuck with it to spend on the site?

Last year you were able to withdraw it back to your bank account. There's nothing in this year's T&Cs to suggest that it's any different.

Only £10 required at cashbackkings and it tracks better

What does it mean by "matched"? If I do this and put 25 ona horse to win the national and it doesn't do I get 25 back that I can withdraw to my account?

Cheers

Souunds like a good deal anyway off checking my code is "there" or has "worked"

Same deal as last year. You bet £25 and win or lose they credit your account with £25 CASH-not a free or matched bet , withdrawable cash. It was back in the account on the Sunday last year. It really is a no-lose, no strings attatched offer.

This is the site i use for all my bets. There are such better odds, its easy to use and navigate too.

( think i may be a member of nearly every betting site there is, loads had great quidco offers last year and went a bit crazy)

if i put a £12.50 bet on so therefore total bet of £25 and it lost how much would i get back the £12.50 or 25
thanks

im guessing each way?

hahaha ye think i just gona gofor £25 on win not my mone im loosing unless this doesnt work haha

Dam, my credit card details were recognised by Betfair from last year at this time. Had to use the Missus'

I think £12.50 each way worked last year although for a free bet why not stick £25 on the win? Just a fun bet as the Grand National is a lottery. You couldn't back many, if any horse to complete the course with much confidence, never mind finish 1st or in the places.

i know it sounds a bit silly but anyway of seeing if the code will work if you understand what i mean lol

just to say i did the quidco bet last year with the promise of 30 quid back and dispite numerous email exchanges with quidco never got my money and theres nothing you can do about it as theyre not FSA regulated - so i wouldn't 'bet' on this being a certainty ;-)

I just went through quidco and deposited £75
put £25 on a horse
put £10 on another horse

used the rest in casino won £211. Gambled it all and lost every penny.

Now you say quidco prob wont pay up

hmmmmmm

Does the "first bet" mean the first horse or your first bet i.e. betting slip because I have bet on 8 horses and spent £33. I have tried to find the answer in the terms and conditions but no luck.

Yeah, last year I put five £5 bets on, but that doesn't seem to be an option this year... it clearly says that they'll match your "first bet" up to £25.

I got my £30 back last year, just followed their instructions.
I never really understood what 'Lay' betting was though? it has better odds, but what are the downsides?
and is there any way to change the odds to real odds eg 5/1 instead of the nonsensical decimal system they use?
Thanks

It says 'first bet' does that mean if i only place £5 of the £25 deposited first, thats all i will be refunded if it looses?

dont forget that you can also do a RAF (refer and earn)......

This is worth another £25, and if anybody would like to use my RAF code, i will split that £25 with you so you will get another £12.50, ontop of this...

also when you bet over £150, betfair give you another £25 so this could be worth over £100 if you also go via quidco.....

my code is: RYR6VUE6J

let me know if your going to use it, via pm or here, and we can sort out hwo you'd like the extra £12.50.....

1. A lay bet is backing something to lose.

If you lay a horse @ 5/1 with a £2 stake... your liabilty if it wins is £10 therefore £10 will be taken from your betfair balance. If it loses...your bet wins and you get your £10 back plus your stake..which was £2...not as much profit..but more chance of winning.

2. No because you have odds of say 3.2 , 5.4, 6.9 and so on - decimal odds far easier to understand.

HTH.

im a complete noob

so let me make sure i get this

i register

deposit £25 in the account place a bet to win or each way if it wins great if it loses they refund the £25 ?:)

Just went for a win on the favourite. When you try and place an each way it splits it into two at £12.50 each (one win, one place?) so wasnt sure if youd get the full £25 back. No mention of me getting anything back in my account but ahh well i registered with the code so should work.

Anyone know why the odds are way better on betfair than anywhere else? Looked at a few I put bets on with coral and odds were significantly higher for the same £10....

Anyone who's gonna go for this offer really should go via the refer a friend deal also.
It's an extra £25-£35 for doing nothing different.

PM me if you'd like to use my code.

they have this plastered on the front page.

but it comes up with a different code: BET636

Should i use this code or the NAT333 one? u cant use a referral code at the same time as there is only space for one code.

Yeah i'm finding the same, you can only add one code! Is there any way round this?

Point 2 (Fractional Odds can be displayed!)

More options (under 'Refresh' button)>Odds options>Display fractional odds on mouse-over

Hope that helps

do you mind me asking where the NAT333 code came from ? just incase any prolems come up with getting ym money back (i know i wont win lol)

Should I use the code already there ot the Nat33 one?

I'm confused - can anyone un-confuse me pls?

I went to Betfair site via TopCashBack for £10 cash back

I registered, used the code, and depositied £10.16 via Paypal (to make £10 - the mimum TopCashBack asks u to deposit to get the cashback)

I then immediately got the £10.16 refunded to me via Paypal

Now what? What about my free £25 bet - have I messed up?

thanks

Also, you need to remeber that you won't know the odds 'til the race starts as you can only bet on "BSP"... Betfair's Starting Price.. this might be lower or higher than the odds currently stand.

Parsons Legacy for me currently at 19.5

Press the "exchange" button above the odds? I don't think this is valid only for BSP - which Betfair made A HUGE mess up on last year

Incidentally someone mentioned Boylesports - they are paying out for each-way bets up to 6th place (only bookmaker to be doing so as well as deposit £10 and they will give you £20.

And for those of you mentioning each-way bets on Betfair, these aren't possible, however, place betting is. EDIT - EACH WAY BETTING IS AVAILABLE USING BETFAIR SP - my bad

And my selections : Kilbeggan Blade, Rambling Minster, Southern Vic, Darkness, Brooklyn Brownie, Fundamentalist, Offshore Account all stand very good chances

Am new to betfair but there is an E/W tick box on the betting slip - why do you say each way betting isn't possible?

Bet placed - £12.50 e/w on State Of Play

Shows how long it was since I was last on there, and my prefs are set to the exchange side - learn something new every day and apologies for the confusion.

It appears E/W betting IS a valid option using Betfair SP!

Apologies again!
