Unlike three and ee which stop when you hit your contract data limit, vodaphone continue to rack up charges at the extortionate rate of £6.50 each 250mb. I recently started a new contract with them and a tethered device downloaded an update. I was stung for £26 by the thieving c**** before I turned off the hotspot. My ee and three contracts just automatically stop when I’ve used up all the data. Vodaphone don’t have a default data cap on their contracts. ‘For customers benefit’ they tell me.... not to screw money out of people and generate income, right?

They automatically opt you out, but if you go to my Vodafone and then into the settings then you can turn on a data cap, you can also turn on bars for premium calls and texts.

Claimed a few hours ago but no text as yet. Cheers though OP, great freebie.
Same here, not impressed atm

You are wrong mate, Vodafone do have that in place. support.vodafone.co.uk/Acc…532
Thanks for letting us know OP, just claimed it
Even if they give me 100GB, I won't be able to use even 1GB as the coverage is really bad!! At home, I need to switch to 3G/2G band to get faster speed as 4G is really slow (god knows why).....then when i'm at work, i need to switch to 4G again but still get very slow speed...........

Vodafone - We loved our customer so much that we give them 2GB free for 7 days......knowing that they would be able to use them..........

Maybe do your job instead?
Got given 2gb, unlikely I'd use it. As I get 8gb a month and I only stream Google music (soon to be deezer).

But a great spot.
Thanks

All this heat for 2gb data, do you lot live in Sierra Leone?

(no disrespect intended to the poor souls that actually live there)
yep claimed mine on pay monthly cheers op
U.K. Worst network. Slow data they're light years behind most networks

Depends on interpretation really?.

A GOOOOOOOOOOOD example of that would be of myself!.

When I was on one of those Old Skool Mobile Tariffs going back to just shy of 2000, NONE such palava existed (sadly?).

So, even when I added a different Mobile Number to my then existing Contract (surprise surprise), similar Network 'mentality' carried across too, etc? - and did do for ALMOST a Decade! (and with such things, where do you even begin to start challenging the then 'fixed' status quo?).

So can you can well imagine my immediate surprise when now a DIFFERENT Network (from out of the blue), now, deciding to do the stark opposite to that of the otherwise longgggggg standing obvious, and ... )

A Network of which I came across purely out need at the time, aka pure blind chance on behalf of passing it on to someone else etc (as I already had me a few of my then pre-existing, etc etc etc?).

Which ironically was something none of the other Networks were either doing, OR chose to do at the time (be it immediately, or otherwise!). :-(

And yes, I did ask ...

I asked my then current Network - they were NEVER interested! (even after an almost 10 further year's past?!). :-(

But other Networks I then chose to bounce on upon in that interim (as in Contract Numbers that is), they were now (eventually that is, lol) proper on it now! - EXCEPT, my former Network (I retained a Number with them on Contract, so I monitored alllllllll throughout!, but yet ... )

I've pretty much been on every UK Network out there on Contract (with the exception of only one UK Network, out of the 5/6 Contract Networks out there?), and multiple times per one too, if I may add, and NOT all are the same, and/or the same at the same time/point in time or whatever? (EVEN within the SAME Network!!, etc?).

Most/all the Network's may/not have all fallen into line now or whatever? (fine!), but on the real though, look carefully at my own timeline? (some of the multiple Networks I've been on took the best part of almost 10 year's to 20+ year's to eventually pull their own finger's out across the board!, and ...

Every Network is different (even within itself?!), I've had at least 2 Contract Number's on pretty much all the UK Networks out there, and even within the same Network, there was not a blanket like for like 'criteria' across the board between my Contact Number's between them all (eg. one would charge me for voice mail, whereas another would not!, or one took the voice mail credit from my existing minutes allowance, etc etc?, eg. 2. one would charge me 10p per text message, whereas the other would charge me only 4p per text message for the exact same thing?!).

So it's not even a generic case of you should have known/should have checked it first or whatever?.

Such blanket comments across the board aren't necessarily helpful (in it's truest sense?), as pretty much every Network out there chooses/dictates it's own M.O. to us all (the buying public) if, and/or when it feels too, etc?.

Talking from from plentyyy of prior Mobile Phone Contract experience here (on account of being topsy turvied all over the place by a few over many a handful of year's ... )

There's more to such comments as yours, then that of just the assumed given, etc, etc, etc?.

I asked plenty many things along the way, and more often then not got nowhere with it, so stopped bothering with expecting again, until such time as they were 'ready'?, but at the end of the day, how long are you prepared to wait though?, until such time as ... (how long is a piece of string basically?), lol. :-)

Fair point, but example's of your "Other Networks" would be?.

As America for example, is light year's behind us ...

Despite America being the Country that pretty much single handedly started this whole Mobile Phone Revolution in the first place?.

So once again, depends on interpretation ...
