Will try. I loaded my hsbc card on the ages ago, but don't think I ever used it. Fingers crossed.

Will this work for additional HSBC cards added to Android Pay?

I won some Costa cards with the Android Pay promo last year as well, when it wasn't restricted to just HSBC cards.
Be sure to check the expiry dates on the gift cards,as I think they expire if unused for a year.

Minimum purchase?

Yeah my £3 ones had expiry date of this November so doing this makes it last longer

Just set this up. Are only certain retailers valid for the chance to win or is it just any transaction?

Hmm, so I have been using Android Pay with my HSBC account for nearly a year, but I have never used it on my HSBC Credit Card. I've added it to Android Pay today and bought a banana at Waitrose, but got no reward thing after paying

A very limited number of stores if android.com/int…se/ is to be believed - is that list up to date?

I managed a few Costa £3 cards and a £20 HoF in my month. If you travel in London, then every tap on the Oyster reader would count as a separate entry.

The list just has the big firms on it. Anywhere that accepts contactless payments will accept Android Pay. Also, Android Pay doesn't always have the £30 limit, but there's no way of knowing without trying it. I surprised staff in a few retailers / restaurants by going over £30.

What about those of us who have been using Android Pay since day one and actually helped get it off the ground? Thanks for nothing...

Anyway, if someone got spare Oden ticket/s plz PM, thanks

That's a good shout - network can sometimes be patchy in/out of the tube station - need to factor that in - although there are always stored tokens on the device unless I ended up using them all.

It's just the same as Oyster PAYG with a contactless payment card, so the weekly cap applies. You can register the physical credit/debit card with the online account and the Android Pay travel history will also show.

You do need the phone to be awake, unlike Samsung Pay where it could be asleep for TfL.

Wok I did lastime was I carried the MasterCard the AndroidPay was linked to,so that if AndroidPay failed/dead battery etc.,I had the card as backup and the gates would still open

I had a similar problem on the buses recently.I used my contactless credit card on the bus reader numerous times and it kept on failing.Luckily I had another contactless card on me and so I was able to use that, else would've been a long walk home

Remember the 1st time you use your contactless card for payment they require chip & pin for verification.
Afterwards, now and again when making purchases, they sometimes require chip & pin verification for security.

Did you have to activate the card first by putting £5 on it? I picked up a gift card yesterday but there's no QR code on it so I'm wondering how you transfer all the £3s

Got nothing off my last 12 transactions, it's fixed won't bother now

No, I just emailed the long number and all the £3 costa numbers and that's it.
What you mean its fixed?

In my last 23 transactions I only got 1 £3 costa voucher that's It, nothing else

Set it up with my HSBC card - did my first set of transactions - got a 20£ HoF voucher on the first transaction and then nothing on the next 7 transactions - but I am still happy got a 20£ voucher - for buying the stuff I was anyways going to buy - the usual groceries and stuff.

Will try some more tomorrow and the days to come.

Thanks OP - without your post, would never have bothered

There is certainly no random-ness about it - so far 25 more transactions since the first one - all drawing a 'better luck next time' - much like the classic casino trick - they made me get a voucher on the first one and now I am trying it again and again in the hope of replicating the bag Anyhow the saving grace is I am not binging so far - all daily stuff which I would have bought anyways.

Looks like the number of prizes to be won aren’t that many or too many people are now trying

Annoyingly I used it today at Costa and didn't receive any reward pop up .

Although it does state first time.

Would this be the first time you add a hsbc card to android pay of any sort of first time a specific hsbc card is added ?

Ive used andoid pay with a HSBC card from one account. Tried today to add card from other (joint account) and bought something. Worked fine, but no envelope. Clearly this promotion doesnt work on a 2nd card account if a first HSBC one has already been used.

I'm almost at the end of my month on this, have received a few vouchers but very frustrated that I've been unable to use on on TFL/London Underground.
Raised a complaint with HSBC but not heard anything. If it worked on TFL then I'd be generating a lot more transactions, I have other cards on Android pay that are fine on TFL just HSBC.
