Ive just got an email from qed-uk and they are giving away a free 3 year warranty on quite a few products, and if you sign up to their email you also get 5% off, doesnt seem bad to me.

The stuff you can get a free warranty with is:

All Vivitar cameras over £50
All Hotpoint Fridge Freezers
All Sharp 32"+ LCD's
All Toshiba 32" + LCD's
All Elonex PC Packages
All Hoover Washing Machines
All LG 32"+ Flat Panels
All Sony 32"+ LCD's
All Indesit Dishwashers
All Panasonic 32"+ LCD's
All Cannon Cookers
All Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

There's a link at the top of the page to sign up to the email and get 5% off.

Hope this helps someone.

I'd reckon that just about all these items would be covered with at least a 3 year warranty under the Sale Of Goods Act anyhow.

I thought all items came with a 1 year warranty under the Sale Of Goods Act. Has it changed to 3 years now.

The term 'fit for the purpose it was made' would lead to a decision as to whether a washing machine is only made to last a year.

Hotpoint have a 5 year standard warranty anyhow. ;-)
just checked out their prices and they aint cheap for sure, all tv's i looked at can be bought elsewhere a lot cheaper, anyway empire give u 3yr(2yr + 1yr) warrenty for £20
This is a good deal. Hoover and Hotpoint have a standard 1 year full warrantee and 5 years parts...Not 5 years. I work for Hotpoint and recently left Hoover and the prices are very cheap on Hoover. VHD914 should have a price of approx £359 and it would cost at least £80 to extend the warrantee. Voted Hot
