To celebr8 the opening of the new IKEA store in Greenwich, IKEA are giving away tfl oyster cards pre-loaded with £5!! Wahey!!

The downside is they are a bit vague and don't specify where in Greenwich they're gonna be, just 'various locations'.
I assume it's Greenwich town; rather than within the London Borough of Greenwich, else it's gonna be a very wild goose chase.

Maybe someone who works for tfl/IKEA can shed more light on where the 'various locations' might be.
Else just loiter around Greenwich on Saturday and Sunday.

Edit:They're apparently also handing out FREE veggie hotdogs around Greenwich.

IKEA Oyster Cards
Catch them if you can! We’re giving away Oyster cards loaded with £5 TfL credit to help people visit us in a more sustainable way. What’s more, each card comes with a limited-edition IKEA wallet, made from upcycled bouncy castles and our famous FRAKTA bag handle.

Locations:

Various locations around Greenwich.

Dates:

Sat 9th & Sun 10th February

Taking a London bus to a packed out new IKEA on the sabbath does not sound appealing

Really? For a £5 voucher. Just how worthless is your weekend time.
I remember when I lived in London they always had Free Ikea travel wallets for your Oyster card in Ikea Croydon. Not really seen them outside the capitol.

Ah yes, they were yellow right? I have no idea how I managed to get one but I hope they bring them back (if they ever disappeared!)

Yes,I guess they want you to carry their flatpack cupboard you've just bought on the bus.

I thinks it's IKEA's idea to promote 'sustanability',hence they give out free tfl oyster cards.

"We have a limited number of parking spaces available at Millennium Leisure Park for those customers travelling by car.

As part of our commitment to sustainable travel, all IKEA co-workers will commute sustainably."
And then spend it on the return to get home. Cunning plan Baldrick.

Some people like me just go for a mooch, feel like being in Sweden and free hot drinks and the £1 breakfast (sadly now £1.75) and excellent hot fresh cinnamon buns (4 for £1.50 at bistro) and veggie hot dogs (big, toppings on as well like red cabbage) for 50p. I've been to Ashton, Croydon, Wembley on public transport all of which are excellently served!

Yes, I sometimes go to IKEA Croydon as well for free drink and refills (with family card); relax on the sofa, make use of the free wifi.
I hope they do the 99p fish&chips or meatballs promo agen soon.

I also been to IKEA Shatin,HK.
In a tower block with several floors but much smaller.

I'll check out the IKEA Greenwich store later when I get the time.

Their idea is that you get everything delivered back home, not take it on public transport back with you. They are even offering a 24 hour service to do this apparently (hugely discounted for Greenwich residents FYI).

Who the hell wants an IKEA delivery at 3am I don't know. And death to the person that starts hammering away at 3am...
