Supposedly to celebrate their 30th anniversary of its first store opening in the UK.

Source MSE:

From Fri 13 Oct, if you're an Ikea Family member (its free loyalty scheme - sign up online), you can get a free £5 voucher to spend in store plus a coupon for a free 'speciality' coffee (eg, latte, mocha, Americano) and slice of cake in the Ikea restaurant/cafe. Both can be redeemed, once each, any day/time until closing on Sun 29 Oct - with no minimum spend required.

If you're already a member you should receive an email on Fri 13 Oct confirming the freebies are available to you the next time you visit an Ikea store - you'll simply need to swipe your loyalty card at one of the Ikea Family self-service machines to print your vouchers.

If you're only just signing up you won't receive an email, but Ikea told us you will be able to print the vouchers from its Ikea Family machines in store after your details have been added to its database. Yet it couldn't tell us how long after signing up this would be.

MSE UPDATE 3pm Thu 19 Oct: Ikea has been in touch to apologise and say the information it originally sent us regarding the £5 voucher was incorrect - contrary to what it first told us, it is not available to all Family members who registered before Jul 2017. Instead, it is restricted to selected Ikea Family members only, who joined before 11 Sep 2017.

The free tea and cake offer is available to existing Ikea Family members who joined before 8 Oct 2017. Unfortunately, if you haven't received the email by now, the customer service team are unable to resend it. We've updated the below write up with these new details.

Is the coffee and cake delivered to you whilst trying to get out of the carpark?

Voted cold - How can you get a family card when you haven't got a family and also no IKEA near me. Thanks for posting though

Thanks for this. Off there at the weekend so this'll come in handy

I have definitely never seen mocha for sale in IKEA mk, is every store different or is there a secret coffee room I don't know about?

Might brave the Sheffield Ikea tomorrow, free £5, coffee and cake might make it almost worth it.

I think the speciality coffee is on the machines, they just don't dispense without a token/code. Mocha=coffee and sprinkle chocolate on top knowing Ikea!

Thanks for the info. I had already agreed to take my mum there this Saturday so an extra benefit for us 😁

Went there the other day with students sitting in a trolley being pushed around with their face painted.

The Specialty coffees are dispensed from a machine which requires a token given to you at the café checkout

Eagerly awaiting this email tomorrow as going in Saturday and always go to the café afterwards (meatballs, chips , gravy & jam are amazing )

If you've signed up before but have lost your card you can print a temporary one from their website as long as you login.

The MSE site has terms and conditions including this below for the £5. There goes plan of buying Mini Daim bars with it, might have to be something sensible like storage

6. This coupon cannot be used towards purchases from IKEA Shop Online, IKEA gift cards, IKEA café, IKEA Bistro, IKEA Swedish food market, IKEA restaurant or IKEA services including of Home Delivery, Installation, Assembly and Kitchen planning.

From previous vouchers... If chocs are in the showroom or before checkout can voucher still be used?

We go to the Birmingham city centre store and they don't even do hot dogs so doubt they'll do this as we'll get the usual answer, that despite the massive ikea and profits, we aren't a proper ikea store so don't any cheap food.

I agree my nearest store is 62.0 km away...

Those machines are almost all out of service in gateshead store last time I was there at the weekend ,the only one worked has a queue

Whenever I feel like a brisk 2km walk I visit Ikea.

Where are the machines?, I will be visiting the Wednesbury store

Haven't received an email yet as of 8:45am.... Can any existing family members confirm if they have got an email??

I'm a family member, no email for me @Rockstarjak

Nothing at Ikea Southampton

I’m a family card holder, I’ve not got the email or this offer on my app - so cold.

did anyone received that email?

Haven't received an email yet but heat added anyway for those that do get to use this deal.

No email.

£5 offer not on the machine instore. Did get free cake and coffee though.

Just been into the Norwich store and no vouchers but a few people moaning! No-one in the queue or myself havery an email.....yet.

I feel like £5 is neither here or there when you're going to IKEA to spent £100s on furniture that you don't need.

I've just checked and most of all my IKEA emails come through between 22:00 and 05:00 so I would expect to receive the email tonight, and it will make sense the offers will be added to your accounts at that time too.

No £5 voucher at Birmingham (Wednesbury) IKEA. Just a coffee and cake voucher, which is in the bin now as I'm diabetic.
