Why not reward those who have a preferred method of payment already i spend **** loads on the Psn store never get nothing from them
Even with 2 step authentication, I wouldn't trust Sony with ANY payment details. PayPal, card or otherwise. They are not capable of keeping them safe, and have a terrible attitude if something does go wrong. Be careful.

Account specific? I haven't received anything on any of my accounts
Wow, those Ts&Cs are going to severely limit who can get this deal.
I already have a paypal linked as default, I guess no fun allowed for me.

No idea id assume if you are part of their marketing list you'd have received an email
Glad I deleted my payment options a few weeks ago as I just had this email. Look forward to my free £5
Sadly it's not for everyone and I assume for those who don't currently have PayPal on their account , I always delete all my payment options and prefer to add them whenever I am buying something

The terms and conditions are very limited and very specific , think I might qualify though

Read the terms and conditions and you will probably realise you don't qualify , you have to have had this email sent to you for you to be eligible so definitely not for everyone

why would they need to give you anything free, you're already a loyal customer spending **** of cash, they don't need to entice you with offers.
Daft as fuff!
Sneaky feckers. I had to add a payment option to buy the £30 for ps+ but I got the email so hopefully I'm still eligible.
Ooh thank you got this
you deserve a £5 reward if you can link anything to your PlayStation account, I tried to buy mirrors edge a few weeks back, and it was as if they didn't even want my money, my card details where exactly right, and my PayPal password, but no matter what I tried they wouldn't accept anything
Thanks op. Actually had the emails l for this offer.

Been the same for me mate since i got my PS4.

Everything matches up exactly as it should from my bank details to my paypal details but neither work on PSN just get a stupid generic error.

Google it and a very commom issue.

End up having to get prepaid credit from CDKEYS but in the long run its actually cheaper and more secure as SONY dont hold any billing information on your account.
After the Whole Thing a Few Years back I've never let Sony touch my bank account, got the email aswell it's a Shame

If you're not on the list you're not coming in :-/
I've got the email for the £5 but I already have £117 in my psn account so should I do this or not as I know the limit for maximum funds allowed in ur account is £120
Nice. Finally received one of these elusive SCEE emails.
after you get the £5 credit is it easy to remove the paypal account again ? i can see a lot of kids going mad buying stuff otherwise :P although it has to at least ask for password to account i guess , right ?
Yes very specific - although I've done as instructed for mine from my email.

IMPORTANT INFO:
To apply for this Offer, Eligible Persons must during the Promotional Period sign into their SEN account and set PayPal as the default payment method (“Set PayPal”) and still have this setting as at 26 June.

You can add an option to re-confirm account password before any purchases are confirmed.
Hope I get an email

Bah! Was just forced to put a card onto the account as it wouldn't let me buy the 12M PS+ without it.

Yep, just go to account settings, payment options and remove PayPal account, I think
Thanks, qualified. Just need to remember to remove the PayPal link when the credit's been applied? Or do you think that's it now regardless of whether the link's removed?
Screw linking anything account wise to PSN or Sony in general.

Looool
My playstation account got hacked an they took 100 quid from my PayPal which PayPal wouldn't pay back because it was through playstation network and they couldn't tell it was hacked. Luckily playstation refunded me but that's the last time I put anything as payment options on my playstation!
So if you have a card linked you can't do this? Had to add my card the other day just to get ps+ using my account balance!
Sony. I know you read these. You suck balls. I use PayPal and you reward those that don't use it. we are close to parting ways as no matter what I do, your stupid payment system will not accept my credit card details even though they are 100% correct. Maybe storing my details on your overhacked system isn't a great idea anyway.

You likely didn't enable 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) on your account did you?
I always recommend people enable this

They'll send you a code to redeem to get the fiver. Just wait till you get the code then remove PayPal as a payment option. That's what I plan to do

You might have been better buying a subscription top-up card from cdkeys and then inputting its code in your PSN account. No need to give Playstation your card details that way.
