Wow that's a damn good good deal! Heat from me! Comet, and any other store will sell all iMacs at retail unless they are discontinued models, so Comet are currently the best place to pick one up!

Not bad really the time capsule is worth £100+ on ebay.

If you have one of those comet vouchers its even better, if not the15% ones are £6 on ebay.

Would make the normally £899 13" macbook pro around £670

Cheaper than anywhere else by a mile if your prepared to put a little effort in.

Voted hot

Sounds good to me! Voted hot

Great deal.

another bonus, you also get 12 months mobile broadband worth £79 with any apple mac (excludes mini)

would be a good deal if the mac's weren't so overpriced... same spec far cheaper getting a pc

Usually they're about £30-40, yeah. Unless you get an apple one. Then you're looking at a few hundred quid :w00t:

Really you can match the features of a time capsule for £30-£40... show me where exactly?

apple.com/mac…tml

Doesnt say its a router there , basically says its a back up hard drive except its wording makes you think its the tardis

"Say you accidentally deleted a file you meant to save. Simply enter the Time Machine browser and you’ll see exactly how your computer looked on the dates you’re browsing"

Now then as on the page i read it doesnt say its a router , how about you get your head from up your ***** for 2 mins eh

Never again worry about losing your digital files. Time Machine automatically saves up-to-date copies of everything on your Mac — photos, music, videos, documents, applications, and settings. If you ever have the need, you can easily go back in time to recover anything.
.When your mobile Mac is connected to your backup drive, Time Machine works as you’d expect. When it isn’t connected, Time Machine also works as you’d expect. It keeps track of which files have changed since the last backup and backs them up to your backup drive the next time you connect. On any Mac, if Time Machine is unable to perform a backup, that’s duly noted in its preference pane.

Vry good deal - hot!

Exactly, just because you would choose not to buy one doesnt mean you have to **** all over the deal as if you're in the market for a mac then this is a good deal

can someone explain why this is hot to me?

I thought you get 1 years warrenty by law with any purchased electrical.

this promotion seems sly.

quick bury them

Care to enlighten us with your computing experience just for us to know … Care to enlighten us with your computing experience just for us to know if you're worth taking advice from?I've worked freelance for the last 15 years and wouldn't use anything other than a Mac. They're more expensive because you get a better computer with a better operating system. If you don't have the money for a Mac then do yourself a favour and put Ubuntu on whatever computer you do buy.

I think we're all on the same page. Apple make innovative, extremely stylish products, and they have many plus points over PCs - my Mac runs for weeks at a time without needing a reboot. The fact remains, if you know what you're doing, you can build a similarly powerful machine for less money.

I own both a Mac and several PCs and use both. I'm tempted to buy a Macbook whenever I see a decent-ish offer like this, but then again, I'm terrified that I'll turn into one of you guys. :whistling:

You do , i never take any extra warranties out on pc equiptment as most general manufacturers offer long warranties as standard , off the top of my head my pc has a 3yr warranty on the motherboard 3yr on the HDD i think 5 or 10 on the ram and im pretty sure my cpu is 5 years although i could be very wrong but i have sent multiple items back long after the 1 yr and had them replaced free of charge , Asrock , Asus ,Corsair and AMD are very good like that or i should say have been very good to me like that (Asrock sent me a new board after a bios flash went wrong , this was after around 28 months of use)

For the record Apple make very nice looking products , i personally think they are just very very overpriced , but that is my personal opinion of a personal computer hehehe.
(mrak my server hasnt been rebooted for nearly a year)

Mac - built especially for the gullible in the world. Form over function every time.

PC users, just carry on sticking your head in the sand.

Has anyone any experience of using the ebay 15% vouchers - do they work, purchase still track on TopCashBack/Quidco etc?

Heat added and ultra hot if they do work!

Does anyone think that Currys will match this deal?

You can get wireless routers under £40 thesedays, plus a 500GB harddrive with backup software for about £40 if you shop around. Can you show me where you can get a dual band wireless-n router with usb printer networking for £40 please?

ooo fanboy war... didn't think you got this on here...

anyone else having a problem adding this to the basket at the comet website? - does not seem to accept it if you try and buy?

Typical - For a MAC offer - this is a good offer.

This isn't meant to discuss the merits/flaws of a mac, but for those who want a mac would do well to use this offer.

i'm having problems as well. I tried two different pcs using IE and firefox to no avail.

Not working for me here... might be instore only?

Do you know when this offer is valid? I bought one last week and would like to get a freebie

Thanks for quoting me as starting the fanboy nonsense not the guy describing the item in the deal as a twatbook. You won't find me searching for PC deals to comment on, I don't want one so those deals don't interest me.

lol, uh oh people, mactard alert. (get ready for the "i am a mac user and I obviously know everything about everything, best).

Anyways more importantly, voting this hot as the silly thing IS free with the mac. However if thats reason enough to plunk £700 on a barely there computer in this day and age is upto you.

How do you get this offer??

Really, you have no issues with viruses or problems with having to run a virus checker on your machine all the time. How much did the virus checking software cost you, does that bring the cost above a third?

The cheapest mac is a Mac Mini which costs £499.99, so you paid less than £166 for your PC including the operating system and it's still fast enough after three years to be usable? I bought a Dell for £120 last year to run as a server with Ubuntu. It had a small hard disk, terrible graphics and the minimum of memory, it would be useless as a desktop machine. What machine did you get for less than £166?

desperate for this deal but i cant find it on the comet site... the combination with the 15% would make this an unbelievable deal. any help?

I see a banner at the top which says "Free Apple Time Capsule worth £179 when you buy any Apple Mac. The Time Capsule will be added to your basket automatically"

Can you buy the 13" macbook pro using a 15% code from ebay and pay using gift vouchers and still get the free time capsule?
thanks

edit: the codes on ebay appear to say you can only have 1 item in your basket?

Apparently the deal is for home delivery and all the macs are sold out for home delivery so its a non starter for now. however, the lady on the phone said there is no reason why it should not work with the voucher but you may need to call them to get it to work. Here's to keeping my eyes peeled.

So with a 15% voucher for £6 I can get an iMac for just over £800 and get the tome capsule? That sounds pretty good to me, especially as my pc is trying it's best to die at the moment!
