Free £8 credit with Groupon

Here's my step-by-step guide on how to get your free £8 credit:

1. Go to groupon.co.uk/

2. If you have an existing account, make sure you're logged out of Groupon.

3. Choose your city and enter your email address in the box at the top right of the webpage (make sure it's an email address that you haven't used on Groupon before). Submit the email address.

4. You'll then get the following message: 'You have successfully subscribed to the Groupon UK newsletter for Your City with the following email address: ilovemse@mse.co.uk'

5. After a few hours, you'll get a 'Welcome to Groupon' email.

6. Then wait; 20 days to be precise! Over the course of these 20 days, you'll get about 2/3 emails per day from Groupon. Ignore them. You'll also get a couple of emails from 'Groupon Premium' giving you a chance to buy past deals. Ignore these too. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT BUY A DEAL WITH THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU REGISTERED.

7. After 20 days, you'll receive an email from 'Groupon Premium' with your £8 credit.

8. Done!

Just a few points:

- The credit offer is only valid for 48 hours; so try and activate it sooner rather than later.
- Once activated, you'll have 7-8 days to use your credit on anything you want. So use it or lose it!
- Essentially, this offer means you can get unlimited Groupon credit (£8 with a new account). I've done this 3 times now; whick kinda explains my detailed step-by-step guide above! I register a new email address every 2/3 days; so that I have free credit to be used when a good deal pops up.

If you referred yourself would you also get £6 credit in your existing account when you spent your £8?
Just a thought...

Yes you can, I have tried it about 10 times and it worked every single time with a new email address and I get £6 every time.
This is illegal..... making multiple fake accounts....
And how do you use multiple accounts with the same bank details? Correct me if I'm wrong but this would just leave you with like 5 separate accounts, all with 8quid in them. If you wanted to use a 20quid deal you would have to pay the remainder 12quid somehow. Won't they realise that you are using same bank details for every deal you buy usig a separate account's credit?
If you found 8quid deals this would slip through unnoticed as you don't have to pay them anymore money and give bank details....
Someone explain that I'm wrong please without calling me a thick twit

hi,

i'm the OP of this on MSE. just joined HUKD to clarify what you said.

personally, if there is a really good deal for £20 then i would buy it. the £8 credit would make it even better!

but i tend to use them on restaurant deals. there have been plenty of deals around the £8 mark. i've done this 3 times now and i've bought lunch for 3 people at a very nice bistro, a sharing food platter with 2 cocktails at a stylish bar and £15 Just-Eat credit....all for £1.75!! two deals i paid nowt and the other deal i paid £1.75.

i've used the same paypal account on all 3 occasions and there has not been a problem (so far!).

plus i've earned some cashback.

i found this deal! i wrote the step-by-step guide!

i registered about a month ago and got an email for £8 credit. thought i'd try it again to see if it worked and it did!

did it a third time, but this time i used a referral link (to see if i could get £6 credit on another account)...but this didn't work. i the other person actually has to pay for the £6 credit to work.

did some investigating (for about 2 minutes!) and noticed that the credit arrived 20 days after i got the 'welcome to groupon' email.

i've got a word doc with all the email address i've registered (i do about one email address per 2/3 days) along with expected dates for the credit to arrive. if there's a good deal, i'll buy it with my credit. if not, i'll let it expire and use my next one that comes through. nothing to lose, but something to gain!

glad people are finding this good. i just hope the credit comes through for everyone.

will do this!
