Do you have to deposit so much per month or keep a minimum amount …Do you have to deposit so much per month or keep a minimum amount balance? Thanks.

It's a student account.
You are generally limited to one student account.

This is a good deal, but beware there are other deals instead.
Personally I went for the 4 year Railcard with Santander which would cost £80-£100 to buy but gives you 1/3 off rail travel, which I am using for my commute for work now.
Other banks offer varying levels of 0% overdrafts, which may be far more important than the £80 Amazon voucher
I can’t see the ‘Writing story books for children’ course on the not accepted list

Oh thanks for this. I have been wanting to open a new account for my son and he is starting college next month. Thanks

No you need proof of enrolment through UCAS. Could possibly create an application but probably not worth the effort, I’m not sure
So my unidays ebay purchased account won’t work with this. Huh.

Does this work with apprenticeships?

He’d have to be a genius to be enrolled at uni at 16
As a fake nus student can i get this offer
I applied for this when the promotion was last open over a month ago, got an email after about 10 days saying the application was accepted but they would be in touch with requirements of further information. That was about 3/4 weeks ago

Doesn't say in the title that you have to be at uni it just says student and I assume when you're at college you're a student

Yes.
Postgraduates must have completed an undergraduate degree course in the UK in the last three years. To confirm this we must see proof e.g. graduation certificate / diploma or letter from university / college.

Might help some people.... Raging.... Mine finished literally 3 years ago.

Meh hassle for 80£
Please ensure you can answer YES to the following questions:

  • Are you 18 years of age or over?
  • Have you been a resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for at least the last 3 years?
  • Can you provide proof of address and identification (PDF) if you currently don't have a HSBC current account?
  • Can you confirm you do not hold a student account elsewhere?
  • Are you studying, or intending to study:
    - a full time qualifying course or a apprenticeship (level 2-7) with a UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man university / college / apprentice learning provider
  • Postgraduates must have completed an undergraduate degree course in the UK in the last three years. To confirm this we must see proof e.g. graduation certificate / diploma or letter from university / college.
  • You have proof of your acceptance of an unconditional offer or have met the terms of a conditional offer for a qualifying course e.g. UCAS letter or letter from your chosen university / college
Or you are a first year conditional / unconditional student with a 16-digit UCAS Status Code
Or you are an apprentice (level 2+) with an apprentice contract or letter from your apprentice learning provider
Courses that don't qualify

  • Access and conversion courses
  • Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education (AVCE) unless part of a formal Apprentice qualification.
  • Non-apprenticeship standard City and Guilds and RSA courses
  • GCE A Levels or AS courses or Scottish Highers
  • BTEC National Awards (other than HND/HNC) unless part of an Apprenticeship qualification.
  • General National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Levels 1-3 – unless part of an Apprenticeship qualification
  • SQA Awards, GCSEs
  • Traineeships / Apprenticeship Access Courses
  • Part-time (except students receiving Disabled Student’ Allowance

This account also comes with a 0 percent overdraft, looks like apprenticeships and other courses are also supported. You can easily open more than one student account and just get the offers you want. Then keep one open you actually want

looks like an overdraft with hsbc is 0 percent up to 3k, I’d be amazed if the full 3k is offered at the start tho

£80 and amazon prime.

I signed up for HSBC once, it took about 2 hours. Pain in the a...! But I got £150 for it.
This isn't great, 12 months of student prime is £40 so really if you value it fully you're getting £120 for switching current account which is fairly standard for banks these days
