This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Not sure if posted already and if account specific, but if you're due to upgrade/renew/cancel with BT, then they're trying to entice you to renew your BT contract by chucking in a free Amazon Echo (Gen 2) when you renew.

You'll be renewing on a 24 month contract.

Heads up - this is gonna get freezing cold!

Awful retention strategy.

As bad as offering customers to fill up a full tank of petrol if they renew for 18-24 months!
Account specific. Cold.
Have to disagree. Just renewed, and reduced my broadband bill by £8 a month, then threw in a free Amazon Echo, which I had no idea about when renewing (got a confirmation email a few days later).

So saving £281.99 across the 24 months

Not sure it's an awful strategy, considering people such as the OP are signing up for it. Whether it's a poor deal is a different issue.
Was sitting here chopping and changing words.
Changing "entice" from "bribe".

The more I was typing out - Especially the 24 month part, I was thinking WTF.

Had typed too much and committed too much time to scrap the offer
I am due to renew wjrh bt doesnt seem like theres any better deals! Reluctant to move to any smaller companies, and virgin is crap any way. bt have provided goid cust service so may renew.
I am paying 21.99 with bt for infinity 2 and free weekend calls and btbtv, so if I can renew and get the echo seems a good deal
A couple of things, they say 24 months when they talk to you, but on my paperwork is says 18 months...

If you do go for the deal, you may need to badger them to get it. I renewed in Nov and was offered a Ring door bell (I was going to get one anyway). I've opened 2 complaints so far and still don't have it!
I renewed on Sunday, 80/20mb superfast unlimited fibre and pay as you go calls for £21.99 a month. I couldn't find any cheaper elsewhere. Been with them 8 years and always got a good deal, can count on one hand the amount of times I've had to reboot the router or lost connection etc. Router is great too. I'll be ringing them later to see if I can have the Echo added to my renewal. Also have a SIM with them £15 a month for 50gb double data speed, unlimited mins and texts and BT sport, when I phoned to complain about new customers getting a free soundbar they said I can have one too! - Pays to ask the question sometimes!!
Obviously experiences vary as I am more than happy with my price/renewal and the service they offered me and I have been with them for 3 years and about to renew for another 2.

Before I renewed this time, I asked BT to sort out my, to me, marginal speed problem which was really not bugging me but I decided to test their customer service before committing to another 2 years. I called them on on the 23rd December and they responded positively and found a way to get me an engineering visit on 28th December. On the 28th, the engineer arrived on schedule, he was pleasant, helpful and not at all p*ssed off at having to work between Christmas and New Year. He went on to spend around 90 minutes on his hands and knees checking out every connection between the cabinet and my house. Net result, he gave me back a fibre circuit that was better than I anticipated, raising the Speedtest result from 36/11 to 49/17. So BT passed that test with flying colours and that is why I shall be renewing with the deal I have which I feel is great value.

What numbers best to ring I'm paying £29.99 for BT infinity 2 atm but contracts up next week. Also how did you get it down to £21.99?

BT would have to offer me a lot more than an Echo to deal with them
I'm paying £21.99 for BT Infinity 1 and getting 69mb. Current deal runs out in March. Just before Christmas I was offered BT Infinity 1 for the same price. Today I can see BT Infinity 2 for £21.99 (no difference in speed) but I can't see Echo offer. To be honest, I'd settle for a new modem rather than an Echo as I have just moved over to a new router.

BUT the words "Pay the same monthly price you pay now." may be relevant. I'm still in my initial 18-month heavily discounted contract... tried the link... and I can renew at the same heavy discount. Tempting.

I'm out of contract and didn't know & the bill went up £40 so rang them and they gave me credit for 4 months.
task to sort but not fussed for amazons big ears listening.

Depends where you live and what your local BT exchange provides.
It's just offering me fibre 2 which I already sort of have , I got a free speed boost a few years ago
dont really like the Amazon Echo....rather have something else like a £150 cashback card!! :-)
Who in there right mind would renew anything with BT
Ee fibre plus £27 + £110 cashback 18mth contract if it helps anyone
Please note these are the Gen 2 Echos, not the newer Gen 3.

The Gen 2 echos are very poor when it comes to sound quality compared to the Gen 3. Not surprised they're giving them away free.

Did the same with Vodafone broadband. My contract due to end, pleased with the service, all my smart tech linked to my router, not many options available, so no plans to change. Better part is I've got a Google Hub Max for renewing, when my plan was to renew anyway.

I've just renewed too at a price that I'm very happy with, but no mention of the Echo. Will need to give them a call too. Absolutely right in that there's no harm in asking
Perhaps those not interested should refrain from voting. This does not seems a bad deal. Lots of people are at the end of their contract with no plans to change the provider, so why not get a decent freebie if you can.
Renew your contract to have poor wifi reliability!
Renewed this afternoon after reading this thread. I did have 12 months of my existing £19.99 deal remaining but couldn't resist the chance to fix my BB costs for 24 months

Superfast 1 for 24 months at £19.99 a month

Thanks for the heads up OP
My wifi has been spot on with fibre 1. No downtime at all. Plus atleast 20 gadgets connected with kids n family every sat. No issues

Must not have the new "smart" hub

I have the 'new' smart hub and have never had a problem in 4 years. Tell a lie maybe three times in 4 years I'v needed to recycle the power resource (switch it on and off again)
deanos10/01/2020 15:25

Me neither. A totally reliable BB service. Regularly high 50s downlaod speed
I was with bt a while ago and it was quite good. Still have the hub, anyone know if I can use it with plusnet as I've heard it's a better hub.
Anyone done it before?

Nope. £19.99 for Landline and Fibre 1 total cost

I called 0800 800 030 It took about 10 mins on hold before I got through to anyone.

I phoned 150 from the house and asked to be put through to cancellations. I was on £23.99 but she took an extra £2 off when I pushed for it.
