Not sure why this is cold.
If you don't need a 0% offer, amex works well with their promos eg shop small and others (recent example spend £10 at tesco and get £5 statement credit).

"This bonus effectively wipes the fee for the first year, but remember, if you keep the card, you'll still have to pay the fee in subsequent years."

danger here would be that you will have to pay the 2nd year membership fee as amex cash rebate is not paid until the anniversary month so not until the 13th month statement. if you cancel your membership before cash rebate is paid you will lose the cash rebate.

quidco cashback is also never guaranteed so may not turn up.

You also have to decide whether shops will take Amex; it's not so widely accepted in the UK.

How is the a cold deal?? HEAT from me

Personally I went for the gold card which gives 2 free flights plus 2 airport lounge passes on a 3k spend. Again you have to cancel in year 2 to avoid the fee. Similar quidco I think.

Nothing stopping you doing both..

cant understand why this is cold!!!
This is for people that CAN manage their money and cancel cards before any fees are due.
"danger here would be that you will have to pay the 2nd year membership fee as amex cash rebate is not paid until the anniversary month so not until the 13th month statement" again MANAGE your money

"quidco cashback is also never guaranteed so may not turn up" Some people have to put a downer on everything, with this attitude any deal that has cashback should be cold!!!

Have some heat, from someone who is control of their own finances and knows how to manage money!

I had this card and called up in the last month to cancel and at the same time opened a new version of their Everyday Cashback card (same as this one but no fee and lower cashback rates). They transfered my cashback to the new card and I also got ~£10 from TopCashBack for opening the new account. All very hassle free and the customer service was excellent as usual.

Hot for me for those that can manage their finances - just needs a reminder in your calendar really and one phonecall.
