It "MAY REQUEST ACCESS TO".
Which is not the same as "it has access to".
Or am I missing something?

In the newer versions of android you have to give individual permissions explicit consent. If it's not an issue to you it's not an issue. It was merely a passing comment as some apps are very unscrupulous and harvest data etc..
