Not sure if the tablet is any good, but might be ok for £50 with xmbc and a reboot

Essentially if you are considering a taste card( which can be very useful for some) this tablet is free. Hot, and I realise its not cutting edge, but could be useful.

I think old people have enough tablets!
Great deal. Tastecard is excellent if you eat out even 3-4 times in the year. Usually it is around £29.95 when on offer so if you need the Tastecard then it makes this just £20!

thanks Leon :
"If you’re looking for basic tablet functionality and you want to keep costs down, then the Avoca 7 delivers. Once you break the £100 mark then the waters do muddy a bit with things like the Nexus 7 and Asus MemoPad entering the mix, but at £49 there’s really nothing else that comes close".

Hmm...;)

Only problem here is that only the iPad crowd buy a Tastecard.

Derek LOL, too right!
Wanted to buy a tastecard so seeing as my 3 yr old is never off my iPad mini it's a bargain at £20 as I get my iPad back too heat from me!!!
Good deal, who really cares about specs on a tablet at this price bracket.
Taste card has been great for me!
The tastecard is fine at £29.99 if you can use it locally even a couple of times in the year.

Whether this tablet is worth another score is a judgmenet call - probably on a par with a "focal-price" type tablet that goes for maybe a tenner more. So if you need both I suppose it's OK - but you can ALWAYS get the Tastecard for £29.99 if you nose about. A very cheap device with lower resolution than many mid-range phones. I'd sooner put the £20 towards something else but each to their own.

CPW sold out 2 months ago according to ChocMonster. On the other thread that reached 301 heat they talk about this tablet to death. Anyone wanting more detail and a fair appraisal is advised to look at it

ChocMonster73 2 months, 1 week ago - from the CPW deal on this tablet.
I ordered last week - called them up just- they have sold out and there are still aorund 3000 customers short of receiving order. They are replacing with a Binatone one with exactly the same spec ( apparently ) and a free case as an apology. I asked what the model was but he said it was his first day back and wasn't sure of the model name....alarm bells!!! they're being despatched for 10th December- I shall be returning regardless

I am sure if you rung them up and pay £100 extra they could upgrade it to 1MB and if you offered £400 they would upgrade it to 2 or even 3MB is that's your cup of tea.

+£5.95 postage !!!!!

We have another deal for 14 months Tastecard £34.95 (usually £79.99 for 12 months) so, the tablet would cost 15 pounds...but it doesn't worth it with this Technical Specification...only for old people or children maybe...

Great deal - I was about to renew my membership at £50 anyway - so I cancelled and phoned up to get this deal. Those complaining about the quality of the Tablet really need to have a word with themselves, yes you get what you pay for so feel free to shell out £400 for an iPad.
has anyone had theirs yet? Any comment on value for money? think this works out to the princely sum of £15 for a tablet?
Taste card is normally £29 though so not sure its as good deal they're making it out too.

It's now £34.95 and sod the TC it's a £15 tablet that's the attraction here TC is a freebie which pays for itself.
This was good while lasted. Thanks to all those who bought one or considered it. Will leave this thread open for any feedback
22nd August 2014 Did anyone get a free tablet in the recent Tastecard £34.99 promotion. Just in case there this was a trick to get us all to buy a tastecard
