Free Annual Pass Upgrade on all advance ticket purchases - National Space Centre

Hi guys

With all the current malarkey in the news with Tim Peak going to the International Space Centre, my daughter has gone space crazy so I'm taking her to the National Space Centre over the next few days.

The NSC is offering a free upgrade to an Annual Pass on all tickets that are booked in advance - I personally think this is a pretty sweet deal. This will certainly come in handy for those days when you're out of ideas of things to do with the kids!

I know the National Space Centre is more of a local attraction for those that live in the Midlands, but I felt that others may want to know about this offer which I thought was quite good, especially if you're fascinated by space like I am.

I'm travelling from Manchester for this trip so please don't vote it cold because you don't live within the vicinity of the attraction.

Update: Huge thanks to PrianR for clarifying the following:

"you can get an annual pass even if you buy tickets on the day, as long as you gift aid your purchase, although booking online means avoiding the queues."

Often seen the road signs when travelling south, will be passing after Christmas so mah try it out, keeps the kids entertained.

Many thanks OP.

Happy Christmas

We live nearby and go quite often...I think the annual membership is only a small amount to upgrade to when you buy your first ticket anyway... Still it is fantastic there! Kids (7 and 12) love it

Make sure you get there early (and avoid a match day), and a visit to the Abbey Pumping station next door is well worth a look too - abbeypumpingstation.org/ . If you visit when they have the steam engines fired up, it is pretty awesome - more so than a static space rocket to be honest.

I live about 5 minutes away but have never been to it..

Maybe it's time I checked it out.. Thanks OP!

Thanks PrianR - I missed that - added it to the post.

We have a National Space Centre? Why??

Definitely get there early as parking can get full or go after 2 when some people are leaving. It's brilliant and they do lego weekends which are great aswell and u can use your annual pass for those too.

Has your daughter also turned into an American?

I forgot this place existed, thanks OP.

Launches happen every week and the ISS has been occupied round the clock by astronauts for many years now. So what is so new about Tim Peake doing the very same thing as many before him??

“Since, in the long run, every planetary civilization will be endangered by impacts from space, every surviving civilization is obliged to become spacefaring--not because of exploratory or romantic zeal, but for the most practical reason imaginable: staying alive... If our long-term survival is at stake, we have a basic responsibility to our species to venture to other worlds.”
― Carl Sagan

Great find OP.

I live 5 minutes away from it and I don't think its all that .. only been the once and it was couple of years ago though

There is a new Asda a 30 second drive away if you want cheap drinks/snacks or fill up petrol...
