You call the 08-- number and it connects you using you mobile phone contracted minutes, instead of charging you extra. However, it gets better. If you get stuck in a queue you hit 9*, and you are then disconnected, and the computer queues for you, calling you back when you get to the front of the queue. You don't pay anything for the reconnection.
It's a no brainer.

Didn't get investment, mainly because he wanted £150,000 for a 1% share, so he valued his business at £15 million! (made £40,000 profit last year)

EDIT - Plus I don't get how it's funded, the only money in is from the call centres, so the ones with 0870 numbers are basically paying for the calls plus some more for this guy's wages etc. They've got 0870 rather than 0800 for a reason!
I'm not sure they want to help people out who are on hold either, if they really wanted they could move some people from sales to CS so they could answer calls more quickly, but that doesn't make money now does it!?!
well i was on the other end of receiving a call from someone using this service and an automated message came on "this is the weq4u service, dont hang up we have a customer on the line" this repeated 3-4 times until that customer came through on the line so 15-20 secs later. i at first thought it was a pre-recorded marketing thing but thought id listen out of curiosity.
i think its a great service
