Have a Barclaycard? Why nto get your free PayTag sticker to save using your PIN Number when paying for items under £20.

Barclaycard PayTag is a handy little sticker that can turn any mobile phone into a new way to make contactless payments in seconds. So now, there’s no need to fumble with cash, enter a PIN, or even find your card.

If you lose your PayTag or it gets stolen, you’ll be protected against fraudulent activity, in just the same way as with your contactless card.

We're launching PayTag initially on select VISA cards for customers who do not currently share their account with anyone. This will change, in time, for our other VISA customers.

If you're eligible then you'll then be among the first to enjoy a Barclaycard PayTag, turning your mobile into a new contactless way to pay, in seconds.

Simply complete the form below to check whether you're eligible for a PayTag today. If you're not eligible, don't worry, you can still continue to register your interest. We'll then be in touch when PayTag is available to you.

Remember, you'll only be eligible for a PayTag if, at all times, your account is kept in good order.

6-8 weeks to process... oO

because it a frikkin stupid idea.
ping£19.99 in each store of any shopping centre and see how quickly your maxed out when the sticker falls off you wallet / phone /whatever.

Only Visa not Mastercard

More junk

I can never work out if these credit cards are trying to help you spend safely, or trying to help you get robbed.
Either way they gain because they are insured too and the robber will probably spend way more money than you would have.

Stick it inside your mobile's back cover.

According to police reports phone is the most common item to be stolen - do I want to have my credit card access to be stolen at the same time? I don't think so!

Yeah but you'd just phone barclaycard as soon as... oh wait....

this is the worst idea ever like, can't believe there even allowed to make these

In the US, you're not asked to sign or enter PIN for smaller purchases - they just swipe your card.
PayTag sounds good & I'll use it when it's made available for people who (like me) share a card)

I'm tempted to give it a try, except that when I change my phone I'll need a new one! I was surprised they sent one to my Mum without her even asking for one - which is a bit dodgy in my opinion - if it got lost in the post and activated she would never have known....

of course she'd know, assuming she reads her statements!

Wait, so these require no phone interaction at all? Meaning someone could install pay points at pocket level and take cash from those with tags? How is this a good idea?

You're all missing a good idea here. Instead of sticking it onto your phone, stick it into your hand. Next time you go shopping and are asked to pay, just swipe your hand over the sensor and hey presto, you've impressively paid.

The ONLY flaw I can see with this is if someone else puts a sensor in their hand too, your future handshakes can be costly.

they ask for your pin sometimes i think and theres CCTV in every shop so it is safe.

I've had this for few months, never used it yet, would it still work if i stuck it to inside of my gel case for phone?

Rubbish... If fraud massively rose then the banks insurer would massively increase the insurance premiums they're paying...

Well you'd still have the credit card, so you'd only lose access temporarily. And if you're that paranoid you can just carry the card with you anyway.

If you're referring to fraud - they can't take that much before it wants a PIN and you'll get it all back anyway (and with it being a credit card, it will come out of your credit limit, not your actual bank account). Plus surely you'd notice pretty quickly if your phone had been stolen? The only way you wouldn't is if you just leave it lying around somewhere - in which case, you really shouldn't be using this product!

Is this available for online transactions too!

umm might try this out...

Awesome, thanks

hmmmm jurys out on a tag and anyway , only mcdonalds take it here and i aint into junk food

Applied for this months ago, still not got it. Don't waste your time..!

if your tag gets lost, max spend is £19.99.
the thief isn't gonna keep buying £19.99 things over and over in the same shop, and if he does so in multiple shops, it would make it even easier to catch him.

technology is moving forward, don't live in the past.

Voted cold - not a 'freebie' deal more a gizmo to use your existing card. What's free about that Barclaycard have been hammering these to me for months

Actually this has been up for a year / half a year more"

Or carrier pigeon... That's a slightly more efficient method.

I have been using it for several months now and can't complain. Unbelievably convenient (so far) seems very safe too.
