Just received a mailing from the Scottish Wildlife Trust of which I am a member, seems that the Scotsman newspaper is giving away a free Book on Scottish Birds worth £3.99 in this Saturdays Scotsman. The paper costs 70p if I remember rightly.

"Do you know the best place to spot a puffin or how to identify a chiffchaff?

This beautifully-illustrated book, worth £3.99, will help you to recognise many of the birds you can expect to see in Scotland, where to see them and information on the habitat in which they live.

This superb book is an ideal reference book for all the family and includes:

* The most common birds that you'll see in Scotland
* Fantastic colour illustrations
* Hints and tips on where and when to spot different types of birds

The Scotsman's free book of Scottish Birds is a timely conclusion to Scottish Wildlife Week which takes place from 7 - 15 June. Plus, don't miss The Scotsman Wildlife Watch, which starts in paper from Monday 16 June. For more information about Scottish Wildlife Week visit swt.org.uk "
