Free breakdown cover to NHS staff @ Vauxhall

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Vauxhall is pledging free roadside assistance to all NHS staff who drive one of its cars during the coronavirus crisis.

The offer extends to any Vauxhall vehicle, regardless of age or mileage.

Normally, only people who buy a brand new Vauxhall get the 12-month Roadside Assistance package.

The assistance programme will deploy a technician in the event of a breakdown to attempt a repair at the roadside. If this isn’t possible, it includes recovery of the vehicle to a Vauxhall repairer or independent garage within a 10-mile radius.

To make use of Vauxhall’s Roadside Assistance, all NHS staff need do is call 0800 197 2049 and quote, ‘NHS KEY WORKER’. They will then be asked for the model of Vauxhall, its registration, exact location and the cause of the breakdown (if known).

Hope it helps someone.

You’ll probably need it with a Vauxhall
This won't even return you home its a basic cover that's hardly worth the paper it's written on.
They will only take you upto 10miles of your breakdown.

Another company jumping on the '' NHS'' bandwagon.

Give them home start and onward travel as a minimum if you care about the good work they are doing and the lives they are saving...

I know, I don't want to sound like a "whattabouter" but I work in a small (but v busy) independent pharmacy. I have asthma. We are now down 4 members of staff. That leaves 3 of us plus our pharmacist. We are still seeing so many people come to the door with symptoms or living with someone with symptoms. We do not have an NHS card so not entitled to any benefits including supermarket nhs hours unless we can prove who we are. "We're all in this together" doesn't really come across that way.
Needed to just put this out there. (I'm quite tired/emotional/scared/frustrated/tired) ✌
Thank you to all the key workers doing the best they can.

Not all NHS workers have access to or own a VW

Presumably they don't all own a Vauxhall either?

The deal doesn't say how long they'd have to wait for recovery assistance, as most breakdown services do
Nice spot heat added
Thanks. I have shared this elsewhere on a different site for other people some of whom are in the NHS or have got family or friends in the NHS

Really nice - please keep spreading the goodwill, anything we can do to help is but a small gesture in my view.

It would be a better deal for Castrol to give free top up oil for NHS workers with VW Group cars.

Can't you cancel your RAC cover if you got it under 14 days ago?
Is this something you have to register for or can it be used as and when without registering?

Agreed. And my next comment will annoy many BUT, NHS staff face danger in their jobs on a daily basis, as do the other essential roles that people have and continue to work. NHS staff are ready and expecting admissions of people with this nasty virus and precautions are taken. Supermarket workers work with the general public have very little if any protection are paid much less and most likely will come into contact with someone who has this virus. I just hope the other occupations will at some point benefit from their hard work and the risk they put themselves in.

My wife's Vauxhall was extremely reliable and cheap to run. Wasnt our favourite car - but couldnt criticise its reliability.

Fair comment - but you also didnt spend 5/6 years running up massive debts for the privilege of serving the community. Junior doctors are paid about the same as supermarket workers if you factor in the unpaid extras. Plus they have to go on studying for life and funding their own specialty exam costs. And perhaps most importantly the viral load you face is greater in hospitals, the really sick dont visit supermarkets.
life eh, it's taken a serious risk to health worldwide and we are only just starting to support the NHS. Yet a few months ago they were at risk? Hmm They need the biggest pay rise ever.

For the record I do not work in a supermarket, I feel for the people who do and get no or little recognition unlike NHS staff. Junior Drs are not paid the same as supermarket workers and I am not sure what extras you refer to. Junior Drs become senior Drs and consultants and can be paid a very very high salary. Medicine is a vocation, yes you have to pay to study to follow that vocation

Just spoke to Boris this morning, he says he's feeling a bit better, and that £350 million is on it's way to the NHS. He says it's the least he can do, plus he likes to stick to his word. He confirmed the bus is made by Vauxhall, so if anything happens breakdown is sorted too.

What a lovely chap, Churchill must be cheering him on from his grave.
How long is this offer valid for? Till the pandemic doesn't end?
Thank you op

I fully agree. And the supermarket workers and delivery drivers who are still working to keep us all fed. They don't enjoy large wages and would benefit hugely from some generosity. I don't mean to take away from the NHS at all, they're amazing but we need to look out for others too.

if we close our bakery, all north will be out of bread..NHS too,all lidls,aldis,tescos..over million bread every day despatched. and we have to work close to each others all this for £8.21 .. good life for someone who sit at home and watching tv .having fun with family, kids and gets paid 80%..and no any risk factors for viruses, illiness
