Do you definitely get the Halfords 10% discount with this?
Does this work with first direct?

Yes although at my local Halfords the last time I used it the staff member told me they'd be told only to apply it to ''cycling related'' purchases. Must be an element of discretion with that though, I'd argue a GoPro is cycling related for example.

Heat on the deal, my renewal is still a couple of months away though.
Nice find. Looking to change my bike this year. I can buy Halfords vouchers via work for 10% off and then the 10% British Cycling offer will really help.
Have some heat OP!!
Heat it is then

Is it only for new British Cycling members?
Does the membership charge automatically at the end of the year?

Existing members can have a £24 freebie instead

T&Cs say it expires at the end of the term (you don’t enter any payment details anyway so they can’t really charge you a renewal).

And CVV off the back
I must be being very dim as I cannot find any mention, or a link, from HSBC nor a "promotional section when prompted for payment". Is there a direct link I can use?

TIA

Follow the link, go via the ‘join’ page and just before you get to the final payment bit you are asked for a promo code, that’s where you add the account info (6 digits). It takes off the £24 and should show 0 to pay
Has this promo ended? I can't see anywhere on the website that takes you to a registration or join page...

I just tried to sign up, the promo code was accepted and showed 0 to pay but when I went through to the payment page it showed £24 to pay. I clicked back and the promo code now says not valid.
Does this work for premier ?

Kindest regards
Worked for me! Thanks OP
The Chain Reaction discount is once per month £10 off £150... And with Evans, it seems to only ever work on full price items!

Which membership level do you select? I selected bronze which is £25 and leaves me with £1 to pay
Got it to work!

Fan membership is free (£24) but looks like you could have bronze for £1 (not sure what extra you get though).
It worked for me when I got to the actual payment page. I entered the 1st 6 digits form my card in the promotion section, but that didn't work, so I just started trying random numbers 465946, 465947, 465948, 465949 - i.e. going up one mumber, I then tried going down (465945) and it worked! Thanks OP.
Thanks op have been thinking of trying the British cycling membership, looks like you can upgrade to other packages with the deduction of the free fan package (£24) off the new one so a ride membership would be £17 for the year which is a decent upgrade! Its certainly a good way for people to try out British cycling and see what they think, Also its nice to see HSBC encouraging more people to get into cycling!

Cheers OP, used it to get a Giro Foray MIPS for just over 40 at Cycle Republic (normally 80) , quoted British Cycling and they didn't even ask to see the card!
Thx
thanks OP

That's not an unreasonable caveat though.... the clues in the name My local Halfords used to just apply the discount but now they ask for the current voucher code (you download a new one every month or so). They allowed the discount on the full cost of a roof carry system (bars, footplates and Thule bars), they also allowed it on 4 bikes, overall I reckon its "saved" (we're talking Halfords here), around £200 in the year so worth having if you're planning on spending.

Other than that, I don't see the point and didn't renew but I might rejoin at the higher rate to get the insurance
