I am an existing customer. I just renewed/renegotiated my BT broadband contract (Infinity 1, 18 months, £21.99/month) a few days ago - due to price increases. I called up today as I saw the Free BT Sport offer. They added it for free (perhaps because I was in the cool-off period), but it is still worth a try to check with them.

You can get BT sports free on:
BT TV
Online & On the Go (BT Sport App)
On Sky TV with BT Broadband

Just cancelled my BT Sport - they wanted £32.49 to show on Sky in HD (without broadband) - madness.
May l ask how much you are now paying after renegotiating?

£21.99 for 18 months, Infinity 1 + Line Rental. And now BT sport free. Couldn't ask for more!
It is funny how the thread below (Plusnet BT Sport offer £2.50.month is red hot (673 degrees) while my free offer is super cold!!)

Nice, Heat, but I spent the good part of an hour with those morons and the best I got was £39.99. I gave my cancellation notice.
Is that BTSport on the TV or an app?

You got unlucky. I rang up to say I was cancelling and 5 minutes later I was sorted with the same £21.99 deal mentioned above. I was shocked at not even having to haggle
No UFC soon if the stories are true... dropping so many sports!

What were you contracted to before your new deal? Did you reference any competitor deal when haggling?
I'm about to contact them based on the price rise, their unprompted offer is renewing for 18 mths @ £29.99 Infinity 1+line rental.
Heat added to this deal, not that it's made much of an impact.

I had started a switch with NOW TV (Fab fibre for £20.month). Then only did BT get serious and give me a decent offer.
Cold for having Tyson Fury in the image
I was sent the email from BT about the price rise but my current contract doesn’t end until November so should I start haggling now or wait until October? New monthly charge incl line rental will be £52.

Yep. Correct. Contract gone to “Eleven Sports.” So that’ll be an additional subscription if required. Mind you speaking personally I’ve found it pretty dire over the last couple of years and lacking in huge fights and characters of yesteryear!

The skill level has increased so much the fights sometimes lack the craziness of the past... still a lot of people I like in it. Diaz Poirier just got announced too!!!

I got the app version (you can Chromecast to TV) but you can also get via BT TV or Sky (see description above)

That's because your offer isn't available to everyone - it's a retentions deal.
£55 a month my offer was - double the price of what i pay now. safe to say CANCELLED.

Had you had an offer like this before from them? I have and they have just refused to give me anything like it this time
When is the best time to call, and number please.
It's a good deal now...until BT raise their prices again in a few months....and then a few months after that too. I had two price rises in my first year with them - after the second I ditched them for Virgin. Had I taken up their negotiation offer, it'd have risen again. Forget that!

Yes you need to play the game, the key is to start the switch to another supplier with the requisite notice period, then cancel with BT. They'll realise you're serious and make you a decent offer, which of course you don't need to accept straight away but OP has got a good deal without the hassle of actually switching. Should be hot!
thanks , called up and they added it for me FOC

Except it's not as it's not advertised on their website / social media etc.. it's a retentions deal that you get when you call up. Okay, everyone who calls up may get offered it but it's not a deal for "everyone".

Spoke to BT they offered me the same package for £29.99 the price I'm on right now, they said that I can keep the discounts and I won't be affected of the price increase, I said no it's too expensive I'm thinking of leaving, they said how much I'm I thinking of paying I said £20.00 a month is the most I can pay, then they said we can give it you for £23.99 a month but I have to pay £1.75 for BT sports that's £25.75 a month but I accepted the offer, now I'm thinking without cashback and no haggles should I have waited for a better deal.
Just got told £29.99 if I remove BT TV and Sport from my package. Also, that this is better than a new customer offer, despite the new customer offer being £29.99 with free BT Sport....

To watch on TV that's BT Sports package that you can watch on mobile and TV. Do you think it's worth the deal because I called them and cancelled right now
They sell any decent SPL(old firm) games to Sky, lost Serie A and are about to lose NBA and UFC.

I'll be cancelling their TV service soon as I only need broadband.
This is a good deal. New customers infinity 2 + bt sports for £39.99 per month. Plus £130 gift card and £110 TopCashback
Super fast? Marketing con. There is fibre 40mb, and faster fibre80mb.... some trials at the mo for other speeds but none of that matters if your lines to the property are whack... visit dslchecker.com type in ur number to see your maximum line capabilities.... zzzz

Try logging into your BT account, then open new window and google BT broadband upgrades. Just tried on the in laws account and got offered Superfast Fibre including the free sport for 18 months, total cost £29.99, and £9.99 delivery

They are currently on broadband (not Fibre) plus BT sports for £34.99.

Not as good as the op, but it mentions £100 credit card, £5 cheaper without the call.

Cheers for the effort. I ended up putting in a complaint saying it wasn't on that someoen else was getting more for less money. They let me keep my inf1 with BT TV for £21.99. So thanks everyone especially OP.
