I switched from Sky about a month ago & think it's a big improvment

Would be better if you put the cost of the broadband in so people can decide if this is good or not.

I've been with BT for both phone and broadband for 3 years and never had any issues!

I would love an answer on quidco been looking at transferring for a while be great if cash back too

It's not the normal service that you will have a problem with its if something goes wrong then service is non existent but oddly if you go with their other company plusnet you get to speak to people who want to help.

Bare in mind it's all bt lines what ever provider you have apart from Virgin

Oddly found completely the opposite. 3 service providers all none BT unable to fix the line fault exhibited on steadily slowing down available speed - switched to BT so I was not ineffectively communicating a fault through a 3rd party to get resolved (3rd party's nearly always following the same script on every call regardless as to what had already happened and got more than a little frustrating). Was resolved within weeks of switching, not that I am loyal to BT, would happily move off them (especially with the rules now in place on advertised speeds and actual being achieved) - last renewal though they matched the best price I found elsewhere when I queried them online.

If only taking out he infinity package u can hope to receive £30 Quidco BC at the moment.

Just switched from Plusnet Fibre, to BT Fibre, and my speeds went from around 50 to 60mbit, which was unexpected.
The homehub 5 is excellent, fantastics speeds, and the Youview TV box is GREAT.

BT customer service though, offshored to Asia, it's a PITA getting your point across. You get there eventually, but it is a painful process.
DO NOT GO WITH BT IF YOU HAVE NO PATIENCE WITH FOREIGN CUSTOMER SERVICE

Been with BT for 6 years no issues at all. But that's cos nothing's gone wrong. They're all as bad as each other when something does!....

STAY AWAY!!

Customer support is the worst I've ever dealt with and they acknowledge there is an intermittent fault between my house & the exchange yet they want to have my house lines checked for free, but if they can't find an issue it's £129! With it being intermittent i doubt they'll find it so thats £129 up the ****. They can't even handle a simple request like "Increase the line frequency" They just tell me that the routers wireless is dual channel :(.

Shame that O2 sold out to Sky, their CS was top notch

BT...No thank you.:(

Worst customer service I've had from any company, ever. Will never go back to BT and prices not great either despite deal.

Avoid overly expensive BT. PlusNet is top notch and more honest pricing.

if only their tv adverts were as informative as this thread. seriously they spend so much time trying to make us laugh with that fat loser that they completely forgot to sell BT Internet beyond 'its fast and wireless'.

still, I suppose it's not as insufferable as the family adverdrama they did before it, featuring that goggle eyed freak fake Steve merchant from that family sitcom on bbc.

That's almost true, but not quite.

Some might have heard of the Phone Co-op. Their customer service is legendary.

Real people picking the phone up straight away when you ring them.

And no shareholders to snaffle profits! There is no other provider in the UK that comes close for customer service. No ifs or buts about it.

Plusnet is owned by BT. Agreed they are better to deal with though.

BT Are total rubbish. Please, please PLEASE avoid them.
I went back to them after being away for 10 years. Nothing but problems. Currently, my complaint is with OFCOM.
Even provisioning is screwed up. No KCI3, but broadband was working. I told them about it as my order showed up as still in progress and if I had a line fault, I can't report it due to it not showing as complete. They said they'd fix it. They didn't. I contacted them 4 more times about it - each time lied to. A month later, they unjumpered me due to 'no order complete on the line' so needed to use my tie pairs.
Even complaining to their HLC department to get it re-instated (fast tracked) didn't work - had to wait 5 days. Then they promised me credit on my account, which they never applied.
Utter **** and I want out of my contract.

Wouldn't go back to them even if it was free, absolutely shocking service when I had issues a few years back.

You can watch BT sport for free on the net , and in HD when i stream through my 100meg Virgin , why sign up to crappy BT

Agreed. I've been with a few BB providers and despite BT giving me the fastest tested speed at 15 Mb it's the only provider that had trouble giving me a constant sound on internet radio. It kept buffering. I think they unofficially restrict your line in normal use and especially during peak periods.

Also it should be noted the phone line they insist you have is not only 1 of the most expensive but they often increase it by a small amount. Small enough each time that it's not worth complaining about but after a year or so your paying much more then you originally agreed to.

Basically they are an unethical company and always have been since their old monopoly days.

Yes , all sports including Sky , BT is available on the net for free , you can even watch the 3pm games on a Saturday , you just need to know where to look , Google it for your-self

You will need a fast Broadband ( i have 100 meg ) to watch live HD streaming

BT had have always have traffic management in place for all packages until Feb this year. It was then removed on all unlimited packages, as such the usage policy now reads bt.custhelp.com/app…346

BT G.T.F.
Remember to add monthly line rental - and all charges are going up very shortly ie next month ie in a matter of days now. Worst company ever.

Ive even passed up on their offer of free broadband and calls for a year, then half price for a further 6. No thanks.

just changed from sky to BT due to sky's p#@s poor router. a big improvement in both coverage and d/l speeds

I recently made the switch from Sky to BT. I get alot better latency which i need for PC gaming but its got a lower DL speed.

poor customer service, just about to mive to another provider ....
