Nice find for the freebie, but surprised that £18pppw is considered a 'tiny budget'. We spend £80 a week on our big shop - family of four - and the fridge and cupboards are always well stocked.

Eating alone is more expensive than with a family. Smoking hot deal. Only morrisons im aware of that do single persons portions of meat etc.

Not sure that I agree with that, as it's harder to plan in advance the more people you have, and you also need a greater variety of foods. In addition, why would you buy a 'single persons portion' of meat? The more you buy, the cheaper it gets. Use what you need and freeze the rest.

I would not agree with that either. I would say it was the other way round. Only one person to worry about, nobody wanting something different.

If you buy fresh produce (fruit, veg, milk etc) in bulk then is very easy to have a lot of waste if your single.
Cooking for 1 uses about as much energy as cooking for 4.

The only way around this is to batch cook and freeze/store, but that eats up freezer space and meals become repetitive.

Still cheaper to buy in bulk.
Price per kg is pretty much always cheaper the larger the packet size.
