Free car for 3 days - Skoda Real Life Test Drive

Found 8th Sep 2017
Skoda are running a promotion at the moment for a real life test drive. Take their Superb hatch or Octavia estate and drive it for three days.

There's no catch - you pay the fuel, they cover everything else, including the insurance. Only restrictions really are no taking the car abroad and hand it back like you got it. Note the cars are fitted with telematics boxes so best not to drive like Lewis Hamilton.

Promotion runs to the end of the month so get in quick - great if you've any long trips planned such as weekend away or taking kids to their new university miles away etc.

Hmmm...telematics boxes. There must be a switch somewhere.

Why tho? I don't understand the playground mentality, it's like not daring to wear anything other than Nike in case the other kids call you names. If its a good car who cares what people think? Not me, I had an Octavia as my mon-fri car for 2 years from 2010 because I got fed up of living with the ride in my bone shaking, testicle crusing Integra Type-R. Drove that Ocatvia all over Europe, not one single problem, great car.

the problem with any hire car is what happens when it receives a dent, scratch etc, sometimes these are not your fault. what are their Ts and Cs regarding this?

    Yup, changed a lot!

I have an Octavia and it's a great car.
Superb was a bit too big for my needs.

    Not available in my area.
Couldn't you use any postcode that it accepts then go collect car, not working in Leeds
I was going to comment in my quote but for some reason HUKD only seems to wanted to allow me to quote in strike-through text. - bizarre

Anyway - totally irrelevant comment: The only time I ever did an extended test drive was back in the early '90s when we had a Ford Orion (booted Ford Escort) for 24 hours. Gosh we thrashed that thing, but for some reason, which to this day, I don't understand, we drove to Sheffield (why?). The car felt quick to us - I think we had possibly at the time (interestingly related to the deal) one of the old communist block rear wheel drive Skodas, so that's not surprising, but concluded even though it was much quicker and more modern is was actually a bit crap and badly made. I'm sort of tempted to take up this deal on the Superb and see how it fares, I expect probably it would be much more refined, but probably much slower, than our current wheels. Sorta tempted.

I would not post that you are off to France etc as they might cancel your drive
    Unplug the telematics box.
    Thanks O
