I sent an email to them here: datacontroller@corgihomeplan.co.uk stating that i do not wish them to share my details or process them for marketing purpose. Dont know that it will help much, but worth a go.

its agenerous offer but sometimes it may be easier to just buy a product , data may also be shared or sold to other partner companies , thats also a factor in a lot of competitions that also require lots of data. just something to bear in mind

Thanks

Thanks OP. Could you please correct the link as it is correctly showing as corgi.co.uk when the "Get Deal" button is clicked.

After submitting your completed online form, the following message appears: "Thanks for your application. If you're successful, your carbon monoxide alarm will be with you soon."

maybe but some poor sod is going to be upset when they keep getting calls from Corgi, lol

The get deal one wasn't even visable on my phone earlier that's why i posted the link after searching for the deal on google.
Think there is a problem with the app it's been happening quite a bit lately on both my phone and tablet where the "get deal" is not visable.

its a bit devious to get you to sign up for a free offer and then tell you after you have applied that you may not get the offer after all, devious

Thank you. Heat added.

Absolutely, but I suspect cockup rather than conspiracy - that it's a standard response.

just don't put in your correct email or telephone number. if they send it, it will be through the post so only your address has to be correct and then return any mail after that if you get any simples

OK, I won't lose sleep if some of you decide not to apply for this offer, but some things to note.
1. Whether you know / want/ realise it, your data is being shared between various groups without your consent, so a company like corgi (legit one) having your data isn't going to make much difference. Besides, your postal address needs to be correct if you want to actually receive it.
(2) If you pass on this offer of something that could save your life, will you still go out now and buy an alarm anyway which might one day save your life? If not, is a bit of junk mail/ calls not worth that extra life saving warning.
(3) Corgi is a business, not a charity. How else can they afford to give a freebie away without having a shot at getting more work? Just decline their offers and move on. No big deal.
(4) If potentially saving your life is hinged on deciding whether you get something for free (you take it) or pay for it (you reject it), you might want to re-evaluate your priorities. Do you really need that xbox game this month?

OK, scrap that last one, just get it for free and get the game too. You won't hear the calls or see the mail for weeks anyway.

applied thanks. let's hope it turns up

i get all my ps4 games free anyway

Thanks. E-mail address is the one I only use for competitions (spam) and a fictitious phone number so I don't expect any problems.

The Queen uses these at the palace, HEAT.
