Wuaki have relaunched the Chromecast deal, still with free postage and this time with TV shows that are on television now, so you buy the whole series then they upload episodes after they have been on TV. The prices are super cheap regardless of the free Chromecast, saving up to £10 on the iTunes price, and the "season pass" is not even available on Blinkbox or Amazon. So for £24.99 you get a bargain on the HD version and also get a free Chromecast at a price cheaper than on it's own elsewhere. So if I bought Gotham in HD on iTunes (£34.99) + Chromecast on Amazon (£30) it would be £64.99, here it is £24.99. Bargain!

Exclusive to O2 Priority pass users only.

Worth a read for Jacky_Chromecast's comments in relation to this.. "No plans for big announcement on this one. Mostly because it will have the same features as the original and most users won’t notice a difference. Sorry--I can’t say more about this topic."

wuaki have cottoned on to hiking the price - their first deal was around £17.99 and each succesive deal has increased in price!

How long do these usually take to come? Ordered with the last deal and no sign of it yet.

Mine took about a week , but that was about 3 deals back

Mine took about a week to come. Awesome device. Would have happily paid £25 for it

Are these things really good? Or just another gadget? Hubby wants one and I don't know if it's just another thing that's never gonna get used

Very good device for its price and what it can do. Heartily recommend!

Does the wifi signal go from the router to your smartphone/tablet then to the chromecast device, or direct from the router to the device? For youtube clips/films for example?

Thanks Paulgriff (and others that have responded). I am going to hold out the 21 days it says it can take up to and will get in touch with them then if needed. Luckily I'm not desperate for it.

Shouldn't this mention "exclusive to O2 Priority pass users" in the title?

I am not with O2 but it worked fine for me without needing any special codes. I just ordered normally through the link

In what way?

The nexus tv player will just be a chromecast plus, really. It won't necessarily be for everyone.

Your tablet/phone you use to browse the clip you want to play, When you tell it Chromecast it, your device is no longer used - the Chromecast takes over.

Took them 35 days to deliver mine on the last deal. And that was only because I filed a complaint and it was sent special delivery!

took about 2 weeks for them to deliver mine, with the excellent true detective deal. I now cast several times a week, great toy

I got the first Wuaki TV free Chromecast deal and at the time it was definitely worth it relative to the price of just buying a Chromecast from Amazon. Unfortunately after a few days I couldn't get on with the Chromecast and switched to XBMC instead which does more like what I want. I sold the Chromecast at cost price to a mate who was well pleased.

Then, I thought wait a minute I still have a free TV series (Blacklist) that came as part of the deal. Tried everything on W7 laptop but completely unable to watch it. Wuaki TV tech support just ignored me as well. So be warned, the Chromecast hardware deal is real but you may or may not be able to see the included TV shows.

would I be able to watch Netflix instead of doing it through ps3?

Yep!

Although the PS3 would probably be the better choice as it is one of the few devices (along with the Xbox) which supports 5.1 sound with netflix.

There's not much about the Nexus TV Player that would hold me over the Chromecast, especially if it's double the price. The apps and chance to use it for as a low-fi games console sounds interesting, but then that's beyond being direct competition for the Chromecast. I want to stream to a TV. I bought a Chromecast. Mission accomplished.

The central issue at stake is still the content, not the devices. The Chromecast is viable, the Nexus is viable, and who knows how many before there for a relatively long time now, it's what you watch on them - or fail to watch - that's holding everything back to keep up. The fancier the hardware, the more it feels like being dressed up with nowhere to go. Though I suspect adding the full (where possibly) app store to the Nexus TV will do a lot to sate that feeling, it's still only compensating for the failings of the medium.

Well mine has arrived. No idea when it was delivered as I noticed it behind a pot outside the door today. It was more than likely delivered yesterday but could have been there for a week for all I know!

Dont get involved with Wuaki

I ordered Gotham s1 but all it says on my email order is the TV season, no mention of a chromecast. Anyone else the same?

Okay -- thanks for that.

You can also get 3 months Free Now tv entertainment pass and 3 months Free music from Google play before 31st January 2015 when you set the chromecast up

That's not what Netflix say ( help.netflix.com/en/…380 - Subtitles and Audio: Chromecast supports subtitles, alternative audio (dubbing, other languages), and 5.1 Surround Sound when available.), nor what I've found using mine - 5.1 DD works fine for me.

Please help! I just placed the order and the confirmation e-mail only shows the show billed and not a word about chromecast on it. I ordered trought this link and it was clearly the pack, yet there is no sign of the device on the e-mail i got. Anyone who ordered please help. Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. Emailed Wuaki & they replied within minutes confirming that I will get a Chromecast, typical delivery time is 21 days. I'm not an o2 priority customer either & they didn't ask if I was or anything like that.

My chrome cast arrived today, working perfectly
