OK it was posted before but now it's back and what an offer £450 free Access Point !!!

Read the T&C's carefully this will not be for everyone but for those it does help these are excellent bits of kit very easy to manage and configure. Just listen to the webinar, send email some basic info and 2 minute phone call job done. Received mine the other day and I am truly blown away with the performance and functionality

Did you have a POE to power it? If not does it come with a power supply? Was it the MR18?

I did receive the MR18 great bit of kit

meraki.cisco.com/pro…r18. If you need information on the device

To be honest my corporate LAN is all POE to support the phones you can get a PSU if needed
meraki.cisco.com/pro…wer at a cost

To be fair you only needed to spend £20 on a POE injector or £60 on a small POE 8 port switch to get a £450 AP up and working

Right ok, was going to test it for a wireless mesh, but will see. Did they check to see if you were VAT registered?

course is on Tue,
what kind of info was required?

did you find it useful?.
what could of been done better,
did u get all u wanted from the webinar?..

Original Poster

yes they check if we were VAT registered

I took part in the webinar regarding Portsmouth City Council - Very informative
I got everything I needed and have started to look at replacing our aging wirles and wired infrastructure with Meraki now the easy of management from the cloud was fantastic and to be able to ship a bit of kit to a site and for it to auto configure as soon as it sees a web connection is equally as good as the VMware Autodeploy I implemented just make life soooooo much easier

Just registered for Tuesday, November 25th, Introduction to Cloud Networking. Love to get my hands on a free AP to test bits and bobs Thanks OP!
Edited by: "omfgzbilly" 21st Nov 2014

Thanks OP, also signed up for Tuesday. How does claiming the AP work, do they send you a link after you attend the webinar for example?

Signed up, Cheers

have a look into xirrus if you are looking for some of the best enterprise WiFi equipment

Looks a good deal, just wish I knew what it's for?

for info, you will get called from Cisco about why you want to do with the free wifi AP - its not one of them sales pitch.

Only one per company by the way, so if someone has already in your company got hold of one, you wont get one.

just registered on line

I work in IT and Telecoms and it always staggers me how inept networking companies are at explaining what their kit does

can this ne used in the home or just for enterprise. if so is just a better grade of components knowing cisco with a remote management console via the internet

what number do you call to get the AP?

Cisco Meraki at +44 (0)203 640 6121.??
which department?

Pretty arrogant unhelpful response. how about answering the question or if you cant be bothered then don't reply with a stupid response.

I work freelance in IT and Telecoms and have done so for 26 years and this is a normal lazy techie cant be bothered im better than you response that really is from the dark ages ot IT. It gives the sector a bad name, but on the bright side provides me with lots of work. Rant over

Being a lazy arsed techie I can't be bothered to go in to a full on rant on except to say that once he confirmed he genuinely wasn't trolling I did reply to him and another as to what this was. Hardly a stupid response imo.

Hi guys! What questions do they ask when they call??
