So, the description should be "Self employed contractors with a VAT registered limited company can receive a FREE Cisco Meraki MR access point".

Are they any good?

Couldn't get one because I wasent VAT registered last time they offered this!

I think with the amount of times I've been offered this I could probably kit out a warehouse. Is there a limit of 1 claim per year or something like that?

Thanks I’ve just signed up for webinar. I’ll hopefully get one.

There's also the free switch and firewall offers.

I've had the AP and Switch for close to 3 years now. They're truly the best products on the market.

I received my free AP today, looks a decent bit of kit and should do a good job for us! Not had chance to plug it in yet, next week I will.

are you going to use it at home or at work?

Already using it at work. Impressed with it so far! I've set up a Captive Portal for our clients to use which means they have to register their email before they can use the free wifi, working well!

Total con job. I registered with them with my company's work email address and sat through their webinar this morning. I had to phone them and was asked to explain in what way this Access Point would be used in our business. After I explained all this they then told me that my company had worked with them in the past and this excluded us from the offer of a free AP.

This was despite me telling them originally who I work for and registering with my work email address.

This is just a marketing ploy to advertise their product and then get feedback from companies. I've no doubt that if I didn't work for the company I do they would have used another reason to not send out a free AP.

Just had an email from them asking to call, so called and heard similar things Ruskey did. Consultants and Consultant companies are excluded from the scheme, even if they could be their potential customer/users. For end users which are not consultancy companies they will also need to a sales conference call to be booked and arranged. I felt that this is bad PR/Marketing and left me with a negative impression. I'm Cisco qualified and have been implementing Cisco, Juniper and other software-defined solutions for others, I won't be recommending it to anyone based on the poor experience I had with Tom Amery @ Meraki on the phone, who thinks I can't afford any Cisco products and had to beg for one...

I won't recommend anyone to waste anytime watching the webminars, you're not likely to get one to test with. They actually want you to buy one for cash instead. If they can't afford to market products this way then they should not have started the first place, what time wasters.

Do not waste time.
