More information about Tesco Groceries Click & Collect

Where do I collect my shopping?
The exact location of the collection point varies by store. You can find the location of the collection point by clicking on the "Collection Point Information" link after you have selected your preferred location; you can also check your confirmation email which will show you where you need to go.

What proof of ID do I need to bring?
Please bring your order number or the credit card you used online to pay for the goods. If you do not have either of these we will accept your Clubcard or photo ID. Unfortunately we will be unable to give you the shopping without any of these forms of ID.

Please note: For collections from the desk in store, you may be required to show your receipt when leaving the store. The customer assistant will hand this to you when you collect your shopping.

Can somebody else collect my shopping for me?
Yes, if you have a copy of the confirmation email with order number. Unfortunately without this we will not be able to give you the shopping.

When can I collect my shopping?
Slots are available 7 days a week. Available slots will be displayed when selecting your preferred collection location online. You can also check opening hours in store.

What happens if I am late for my collection slot?
Please check with the member of staff at your collection point, and they will advise you on where to collect your shopping.

What happens if I am early for my collection slot?
Unfortunately we will not be able to serve you before your collection slot.

Where will my groceries be stored during my collection slot?
All products are picked on the day of collection and safely stored in the temperature controlled collection point in the fridge, freezer or cupboard until you arrive.

Will my shopping be in bags?
Your shopping will be in bags unless you select "collect without bags" at the online checkout. If you select bagless, please remember to bring your own bags.

Please note: Unfortunately in Wales we cannot give out free bags at the collection point due to legislation.

Will I still get Green Clubcard points if I choose bagless for collection?
Yes, you will earn 1 Clubcard point for every 10 items.

What happens if I select bagless but I forget to bring my bags?
Please ask for bags from the customer service assistant at the collection point.

Do I have to arrive in a car for a drive through collection?
We recommend you drive to the collection point so that we can put your groceries straight into your car. However you can arrive using any method of transport, including by foot. Please be aware that the vehicle height limit is 2.8m.

What happens if something I have ordered is not available?
On the rare occasion that a product you order is not available we'll try to offer you an alternative. You can hand back any unwanted items to the member of staff at the collection point for a full refund. You can update your substitution preferences by clicking on 'View full basket' as you shop.

What do I do if I'm not happy with the substitute I am given or would like an item refunded?
Your substitutions will be presented at the top of the receipt and will be in blue bags. If you choose to return the substitution the customer service assistant will process a refund at the collection point. You will need to go into the store if you would like to choose an alternative product.

Can I amend or cancel my Click & Collect order on the website?
You can amend your order by going to "My Orders" at tesco.com/gro…ies. If the order has not been processed by the store you will be able to add/remove products to the order or change the collection slot. Don't forget to checkout the order again to ensure that all changes are saved.

If we have your mobile phone number, we will text you the day before your collection to let you know the latest time you can make any changes to your order. To check whether we have the correct mobile phone number for your account please visit tesco.com/gro…ery

Orders may be cancelled via "My Order" at tesco.com/gro…ies. Alternatively please call Customer Services on 0845 7225533. An order can be cancelled up to 11.45pm on the night before collection.

Please note: Our Click & Collect offering varies by store. Please visit store locator to find out what your local store currently offers.

Anyone know off the top of their head, when the 10p off Fuel Voucher deal is on until? I might combine this offer with 'another' new account, to get the £12 off a £60 shop, 10p off Fuel and free click & collect. That would be a decent week's shopping. Thanks for the heads up OP. X)

How weird, must be store-specific. My local store delivers in 1hr slots rather than 2hr slots; they'd have to offer me a discount if they wanted me to wait at home for two hours!

I think we can all agree that £0 is cheaper than £2 though I'll be collecting my shopping on Friday when I'm already going to fill up at their petrol station, so it's not even out of my way.

They never have me wait though, they always turn up at 8 pm and it's only cheaper when it's free.
At equal cost (£2) why go through the hassle/cost of petrol of collecting instead of having them do it?

Why, when you've already paid for your goods would anybody want to pay £2 to then collect them from the store in the first place?

Tesco will have to match that sooner or later. We'll see how Morrison's and Iceland will compare...

is this for orders placed AFTER 24th may or for collection after 24th may but you can book before then?

You can book now, for collection slots from 24th May (Friday).

Good if you are pressed for time but in my experience, pickers tend to choose the products with shorter sell-by dates...

Due to unforeseen, or should I say self-inflicted, circumstances, I have a lot of time on my hands over the next 6-12 months, so I need to fill that time with all sorts of crap like this (something to do). oO

They were in the area anyway?
They don't want to/can't wait for 2 hours at home for it?
They want to double check the items for mistakes etc. while you're somewhere it can be fixed easily?

I wouldn't personally pay for it, but I can see why some would.

I shop for myself and always dive to the back of the shelf, dates can vary from going out of date in 1 day to a week.

This isn't a freebie, should be in the discount codes or misc section.

Agreed - recently, I have had several items delivered that were expiring on the same day or the next day. If I had purchased them in store, they would have been marked down but was charged full price because they were delivered.

It is definitely best to do the shopping yourself because you can pick the freshest and best looking products.

But some of us don't have time/transport. Besides, when I was given an item expiring same day or next, I emailed and was given twice the value back, can't complain.

Completely agree. I no longer drive, so I have no other option but to get things delivered. It is very handy.

But if Asda does it for free, good for them
