Free "cloud" backup of many social website accounts FOREVER - Must sign up by 31st of Jan to get this free

Backupify backs up all your online accounts (Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and a ton more) to the cloud, normally for a nominal fee but until January 31, 2010, all Backupify accounts will be free with unlimited storage. After this period, the service will go back to a paid pricing structure. Anyone who signs up for an account during this free period, however, will remain free and unlimited forever!

So if you've been considering the service (or feel the need to backup your Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Wordpress, or many other supported online accounts), now is the time to sign up. If you don't see your service listed, sign up anywaythey've announced that YouTube and Linkedin backups are coming soon, and they plan to continue to launch support for more services. It can't hurtafter all, it doesn't get much cheaper than free.

To clarify, the account is free FOREVER as long as you sign up for it by 31st Jan 2010. As it says on their official blog:

"If you sign up during this time period, you get unlimited storage, for free. You get an account that is not a free trial, not free for a limited time, free forever."

Just did this yesterday - Hot for me.

is there any point in this? seems like a pointless service

They are, of course, already backed up and "in the cloud".

This is a central place to backup all your other online services under one account. And the cloud they're backup up to are in Amazon.com's Datacentre.

I've got all the below backing up - Can access all from my one login and can restore from anywhere I have internet access.

As per the blurb on the site

Some web 2.0 services shut down without warning. Others are hacked. Sometimes data is lost from basic human error, or the intentional actions of a disgruntled employee. Don't put your lifestream at risk when there is a simple, easy, low cost way to back it up.

Just can't understand how people can rate something that's FREE and of benefit to a lot of people as cold?

Great idea! My Sisters Facebook log in stopped working and FB support were useless so she had to set up a new account. At least this way she could access pictures etc she had uploaded.

Thanks

If you sign up before then, it's free forever.

Previous rates look to have been between $3.95 and $14.99 per month.

It'll be a case of wait and see on what limits you have on a free account, but your better signing up now while the offers on.

It's free forever as long as you sign up by Jan 31st.

On Backupify's official blog, which can be found at this page> blog.backupify.com/200…ee/ you can see that it says:

"If you sign up during this time period, you get unlimited storage, for free. You get an account that is not a free trial, not free for a limited time, free forever."

Call it a little early Christmas present! :gift:

Thanks for posting that! How kind of them! Signed up.

Hot from me too, was about to post, searched for Backupify and didn't appear, might want to put it in title perhaps? Cheers

Also anyone know if you can backup more than one twitter or gmail account? Thanks again.
