I thought this was well worthy of a mention and could only wish my club (and others) did this. Well done Stoke. So expect plenty outbursts of 'Delilah' at your ground this season.

Not exactly sure how much this is gonna save fans, but I'll guess average coach travel per game is £40 (ie from Newcastle, to Southampton and various London clubs) and 19 games I make that £760

STOKE CITY are to offer their supporters free coach travel to all of their Premier League games in the 2013-14 season, the Club has announced today.

It is believed to be the first time any side in England’s top four divisions has undertaken such a bold initiative for an entire campaign.

Coaches will leave from the Britannia Stadium for all 19 of the Potters’ top flight matches, starting with their Premier League curtain raiser against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 17th August.

The Club is introducing the initiative on the back of the increase in their income delivered by the new TV deals, in a bid to try and ease the financial burden on fans who follow City on their travels.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “As a Club we are conscious that following football can be an expensive business, especially at a time when so many people are feeling the squeeze financially.

“We work hard to try and provide our supporters with value for money which is why we have not increased our ticket prices since being promoted to the Premier League in 2008.

“However, we realise how expensive following the Club away from home can be for supporters and we’re delighted to be able to offer free coach travel and hope it encourages more of them to give us their fantastic backing away from home.”

*Not put this in freebies as you have to buy a match ticket

Fair play to them, go to be worth some heat

Best deal ever in my opinion

Well done stoke city, other clubs take note.

Quality. I wish Millwall done this.
P.S. When I went to Millwall away to stoke. Best meat pies in football

Top stuff from coatesy

Gotta love the man

That's incredible, good on them.

they wanted all premier league teams to do it but they refused point blank so Stoke are going it alone

It's bad enough watching them at home!

Well done Stoke .. QUALITY...

It seems a good deal on the surface, with the only downside being you would have to watch Stoke,

Great effort this. just when I was at the point of thinking clubs really didn't give two Tom Kite's about fans.

Do they also cover medical expenses for knackering your neck looking up at long balls all the time?

to all Stoke fans saying bad this bad that . .get a grip .. lots of clubs like my own in the crap .. grin and bear it .. its football at whatever level.

Good Luck.
You are going to need it.
You may as well get a one way ticket to the Championship with Mr Hughes in charge.

Yay

This time next year the population of Stoke will be halved as the residents use this as a one way ticket out of that dump

Steady on! This is a good deal for Stoke supporters and totally not asking for opinion on the area.

Everytime I see Stoke and Premier League in the same sentence, I am ABSOLUTELY convinced it is a discussion about a cup game.

Why are these hackers still in this league?

They should. Its either long balls or annoying violence.

cold hate rugby

They'll only need two coaches and one of them will have empty seats

Putting rivalries and comments about how Stoke play something that resembles football aside, what a great deal and all credit to them for doing this.

Cold, its a ploy to get past the Hughes out demo's

(Voted hot :{)

Haha jokers, a great deal for us stokies

it's a sorry state of affairs when a good deal is marked down because of the location.... forget it being a stoke city deal. if a manchester club had done it it would be red hot... therefore hot from me...

Great deal stoke, well done. Same my local club don't do a similar thing. Same the rams are now just interested in fleecing supporters.

Cheshire carper......we're still in the league because we get enough points throughout the 38game season. Pretty obvious really!

No hope of my Wigan doing the same.... Heat from me

die hard united fan?

Well done potteries. Arsenal take note.

It's either this or have no one travelling to away grounds to support Mark Hughes' team

well done stoke , wish our lot would do the same , its good to see a premier team giving a toss about the fans and also the realisation of the need for the twelth man away from home

Sour grapes from a Wanderers supporter...I'm not even going to start about Wolves.

Mark deserves a chance and I'm sure true SCFC supporters out there will give him that

Not a Stoke fan but what a fantastic deal voted hot

why didn't they just get him a taxi

This is a hot, by virtue of the nature of football there will be banter. But all said and done this is a hot deal, so vote on the deal, not the geographical location, style of football or motives behind the deal.
I just wish my team Arsenal would have some grand gesture for not strengthening the squad and selling our best players over the last 8 years!

Dirty sheep lmao COYR

This is a cracking deal and an excellent gesture of goodwill from the execs at Stoke to the fans! Shows what a fan orientated, down to earth club really is in these hard up times.

Nice one stoke, pity all teams don't follow the same principle, that fans are the back bone off all clubs.
