Free coffee grounds @ Waitrose

26
Found 19th May 2015
Waitrose are now giving the coffee grounds from their machines for free.
Found at Godalming branch, but I am assuming it will be national... comment if you've seen it.
They come from a big bin next to the garden stuff outside. There's a compost scoop there, so help yourself and enrich your garden's soils!

Shared Via The HUKD App For Android.

Also available at most other coffee shops you just have to ask

They do this in Glasgow too

I think also available in Starbucks

Hmmm can this be used for drinking

Why would you want this?

I'm sure Del Boy is thinking good busy opportunity here for re-packaged ground coffee.:)

You telling me ..... lool

Sainsburys also do this

that's awesome

I've seen this week that they do it in Coffee #1 too. Great for a garden feature

Whatever you do though, use it straight away on your garden, don't leave it hanging around. It goes really rank, stinks the place out and you end up with zillions of those tiny black flies everywhere.

Banned

good for a free cofee at home

It'll still be better than Nescafe Original

Won't it turn like that in the garden?

First I've heard about using it in the garden. The coffee grounds at work usually go straight into the food recycling bins.

and also if you want to acidify your soil

Our local branch will also let you collect bogies from off the gents toilet wall.

McDonald's also give them just ask.

Yes it's good for the soil mix it in around shrubs etc or I mix mine in with potting compost works fine as long as mixed well and the greenhouse smells lovely! Available in big waitrose Ipswich outside in a bin

It's fine in the garden, I think it's just being enclosed that does it. As someone said, just sprinkle it around your plants and fork it around to mix it up.

It is meant to ward off slugs etc but, apparently, you aren't allowed to say it kills them. Some strange law I read about. Very odd.

So true.
I find Caffe Nero normally tastes the best out of the chains.
Try for yourself on (most) Tuesdays if you have o2 Priority Moments.
