Just FYI you do need one of their Advantage cards

I had a free trial a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't need an advantage card.

Ahh, my bad.. there is a bit at the bottom that says a permanent Advantage card is needed but that's for some other discount!

No worries. The advantage is needed if you wanted to claim 10% off boots products if you choose to do their contact lens scheme.

so do they provide u with free disposable lens to try at home?

Free trials would normally involve a 5-14 day supply, you will have a consultation where they assess which lenses are best suited for your prescription as well as the shape, dryness etc They will then show you how to insert & remove the lenses (Teach appointment) and away you go. You must have a valid sight test prescription, which means less than 2 years old and some will insist on no more than 12 months.

DO NOT TRUST BOOTS

They are some of the best rip off merchants on this earth. Their prices for contact lenses and glasses are a disgrace (buy online). You must have a eye test unless u have a prescription normally within a year.

do D&A carry out the same as they are partners with Boots.

I ditched Boots after a few years when I discovered Specsavers did the same contact lenses for half the price.

I've had free contact lense trials with vision express and also specsavers. No decent optician would just make u pay and try then before buying.

If you choose not to buy after does it cost you for the fitting like it does for spec savers?

Dollond & Aitchison, Optical Express and Specsavers also offer this deal. I am currently trialling monthly contacts with D&A (who have merged with Boots Opticians), and I have had no problems so far.

I can confirm that they do.
