maybe I'm too cynical but I'd guess the prices are currently about £20 higher

edit - I am - they're not

There actually cheaper than they were a couple of days ago. They were £160 came to around £215 with vat and del. So £175 all in isn't too bad.

not all of them list the OS and the only ones that do are XP so does anyone know which OS the others come with or are they all likely to be XP?

What do people think to this spec?

higher than I'd like for an outlet 'deal', but depends on the savings level you're getting vs new. Seems a nice spec for most people's typical use.

Thanks. Im not sure what this would cost new. About £400?

can anyone remember how to grab the service tag for the system(s) on offer at the outlet store, there used to be a way to get it from the source code of the page, and then you could check the original specs etc of the machine and when it was ordered etc etc

Ooooh now I like that. I wondered which smart **** found out how to do that first time round?

don't think you can do that anymore.
also they don't seem to have as much in the outlet as they used too :-(

Been buying Dells for over a decade but you really must shop around as Dells seem higher price than ever but the problem now is build quality and spec is down and CS for private consumers is dire. Truly dire in fact.

I know prices/service/quality has come down industry-wide but that's even more reason to shop around.

I don't think Dell means very much any more and I wouldb't be surprised if the brand disappears.

Can't do it any more as the source code for the System Identifier has evidently been changed

Hi,
Am interested in finally picking up a Mini10 but note that they come with Windows 7 starter or XP Home.

Any views on whether Windows 7 is worth going for on a netbook, or if it is better to stick with XP. Same price it appears at £175 inc VAT

Windows 7 all the way.

Even on the standard 1 Gb ram? Never used it in anger although did try the Beta a while back on my desktop with a Athlon 3200+ with 1Gb, didn't seem too bad, but obviously not quite the same things.

Just ordered one of each, total £349. Will have a play and possibly return one, but kids are using old Compaq P3 laptops so these will be a huge upgrade.
