Our famous free support and information pack for newly diagnosed families, including Rufus the bear with type 1 diabetes. Rufus has been a great friend to thousands of children with type 1 diabetes. He has patches on his body where children can practice injecting and testing.

Inside the drawstring kit bag there is a handy folder containing Type 1 Discovery magazine and a selection of JDRF leaflets, including Understanding type 1 - A pocket guide; Finding the Cure; Type 1 diabetes - A new diagnosis in the family.

We want to ensure that all children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes are able to receive KIDSAC, so orders are normally restricted to one per newly diagnosed child. You will be required to give the name of the child, date of diagnosis and name of clinic in the 'further information about you' section at the checkout or your order will not be processed. This information will remain strictly confidential. If you need more than one newly diagnosed pack please contact us directly. Packs can only be sent to addresses in the United Kingdom.

Obviously won't be getting it but cute offer Hot.

Hot, even though I won't be getting it. Thanks for the info tho! ;-)

got to be the hottest this year great for kids

Major heat for this

This might also be good for schools to have or after school groups for learning? Heat added

My daughter got one of these when she was diagnosed with type 1 9 years ago. Very cute as they have injection sites too

I'm a type 1. I want one
But I will leave it for the brave kids to have x heat! X

heat added nice little helpful freebie for those with the illness, won't be ordering though as i don't have or know anyone nearby with it

This is a great freebie for people who actually need it. I don't need it but would like to thank for posting and helping others . Cheers.

Heat added.

It seems a shame that they have to go as far as they do to ensure that valid requests are made, but they have little choice given that some people seem willing to abuse ANY offer (and no doubt will shamefully STILL chance their arm and try and abuse this one!)

Won't be ordering but heat added for an awesome deal for those who genuinely apply

"Diabetes risk gene 'from Neanderthals'", according to a BBC News headline on 25th December 2013.

I don't have diabetes, but live in fear of it. Desperately trying to bring my weight down.

I would say living in fear of something isn't too healthy either, good luck though.

Lovely offer, won't be getting one but any T1 child would love it My daughter has poorly ears (regular infections despite grommets being fitted) and she's two, I wish there was a poorly ear bear!!

This deal is hot - I ordered 25, all you need to do it set up different accounts!

As a diabetic, I had a large Rufus when I was young and he was class! Great thing for kids

I sincerely hope you're joking!

That's so nice for little ones. I know a Type 1 sufferer, but this is a few decades on, so he's obviously not eligible

I hope Nygaard88 is just a troll.

Hi All,

While I am sure this post was made with the best intentions, since posting we have had hundreds of completely fake orders and requests for the pack from people that are not living with type 1 diabetes.

We are quite a small charity and this is a significant administrative burden for us to manage. Not to mention all the packs that will now be sent to people who have no need for them. Every pack we send out costs us money, and we want to ensure that every child who has been newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, can benefit.

Can I ask that this post is removed please?

Best wishes,

Simon Mitchell

Such a shame people do that, utter imbeciles.

Lovely scrub up for those without diabetes - thanks

What you are fearing is type 2 diabetes and not the same as type 1, I know this nit picking but people dont always understand there is a big difference.

:(oO:(pathetic - I cant believe people have made fake orders that could potentially stop children (who no doubt would gain comfort from this bear) receiving theirs!! little soft toys can be picked up really cheaply so there is no excuse for people to do this. I hope this charity continues to offer these packs to those that are eligible.
